  • Active dogs and joint support?

I'm starting to look into joint supplements; Maggie is 8yo and does a lot of jumping, hiking, running, etc. She shows no signs of active arthritis and I'd like to keep it that way. My vet swears by Cosequin, but it's pricy and I don't have a dog that is arthritic, so I'm looking for...

The GreatDaneLady uses Flexicose. http://www.flexicose.com/flexicose-pets The people formulas and the pet formula are the same. They use different bottles for marketing purposes. Flexicose is available many places including eBay. ETA: Flexicose is a liquid.

  • Can a dog get too much Glucosamine and Chondroitin?

My Lab often seems sore after a long exercise, he is older (5-7yrs), so we decieded to buy Glucosamine and Chondroitin chewable tablets. We also picked up a bag of Dogswell Happy Hips. My question is, can a dog get too much Glucosamine and Chondroitin? And will it effect his health negatively?

So what food brands are recommended by members of this forum? I've been feeding my 2-year old black Lab either Iams or Eukanuba her whole life, and she loves it and hasn't any health issues.
