  • Re: Food For Thought

I know I am getting in on this topic rather late, but I just wanted to say a few things about dog food. First off each dog is an individual just like people some people can eat junk all there lives and be fine, others don't do so well that is where the genetics come into play. It's how the dog...

  • 10 wk. old puppy always acting hungry?

We have an almost 11 wk. old Boston terrier puppy who we feed 1/4 cup of dry puppy food 3 times a day. She doesn't always finish it, but even when she does, she walks around the house sniffing the floor so intensely like she is starving, because she is sniffing around where our other dogs have eaten...

  • Re: So uhm..how do you teach a dog not to steal food??

I agree with mudpuppy that the best way to solve this problem is to back up and teach him what you want him to do, instead of correcting for what you don't want him to do. I teach the Leave it command. Here are the steps I start with: First find 2 treats that your dog likes. Then take the treats...

  • Finding a food after sickness....

My Lab/Ridgeback mix got sick from the tainted food and was on an IV for 5 days. He thankfully lived through it, but now we are having a hard time finding a food he wants to stick with. He had been eating Iams for 7 months prior to the incident......and was doing great. Since then, he has been through...

  • Female Entering Home w/Males

I recently adopted a 5 month old female Bloodhound puppy. We already have 2 adult males and an adult Basset Hound. This puppy is the most stubborn dog I've ever run across. She is very food possessive and we've had a few good fights - no injuries thankfully. Now we keep her on a chain at meals...

  • Re: Best Dog Food

My opinion of the best dog food is Life's Abundance. I can not say enough good things about it. It made by the batch, with human grade ingredients. All natural preservatives, the shelf life of only 6 weeks. It is only available on the internet at www.SmartDiet1.net . A friend turned me onto it a...

  • Re: We've reached a new low in my house (marlania)

What part of dining with the "family" do you need clarafied? It is never embarassing until you sit down with a nice cold beer and the dogs gather around hoping for a sip! BTW Yes I know it isn't good for dogs... But mine prefer imported . very cold sips on a summer's day. In the winter...

  • Re: Diet food for dogs?

I know life's Abundance sells weight-loss formula for Adult dogs. They also sell treats that are low fat. The website is www.SmartDiet1.net . Fortunely, my pug hasn't needed that yet. She eats the regular formula food and eats less than other premium dog food. I think the Life's Abundance...

  • New Doggy Owner (Sort Of) What to do?

Sorry this might be long! But I really need some help and any useful advice. We found a dog - well, she sort of found us. We were dropping my sister off to school when this white furball decided to follow us around. She even jumped into our van as we were leaving. So we looked and asked around the school...
