Forget the equipment and start training for attention at home using clicker training. You can modify any behavior with this system and it is pretty much boo boo proof so you can feel confident that you aren't creating more of a monster. I mean if they can train tigers, elephants, dolphins using this...

If you're open to it, you may want to try a holistic vet. Not being there to see it, it is hard for me to figure out if this is normal sighthound stuff or something more. • Re: Clickers for the surly

LOL That's too funny! My name is Carla and I am "surly" about using the clicker! But I'm doing it anyway! I am using it with 2 dogs regularly so far. Jaia and B'asia. Cara is highly food motivated, so she picked it up right away and with her, it's mostly a game for fun and food...

  • Re: Why This Surliness Towards Clickers (and other great questions)

[quote user="Lee Charles Kelley"] Too many owners and trainers ignore this, thinking if the dog is producing physical behaviors on command, they've been successful. (I've also heard a lot of clicker trainers complain privately that their dogs have developed food-related misbehaviors...

(Please note the disclaimer in my signature, as required by idog rules.)
