Good post, thks! I've also been searching around for this info. I want to add Solid Gold to the list, it's top quality. My pups got allergies and LOVES Barking at the moon - its grain free high protein. she's doing really well on it. After nearly a yr on it I just thought it's time for a bit of variety lol. And I didn't see Merrick here either. Its also a high quality food with no harmful additives. I think we'll try their Before Grain next. Check out this site which lists

Low Protein Help Please

Hello everyone. I'm in a weird situation where one of my pups needs to be on a high protein grain free diet and now I've just been told my other pup (not such a pup anymore :( needs to be on a low protein dog food because of kidney problems. So much to read up on I dont know where to start. Can anyone p-l-e-a-s-e help out. What are the good quality brands and whcih are the junk ones. And also how do I know whats "low" protein? how much is low? thank you, thank you, thank you.

Hi thanks for the detailed reply. OMG don't get me started about the doc!!! My old one retired and this #**$ took over. He spent like 2 mins wth us and was so rude and arrogant. He pretty much just looked at the tests and said it was time for a low protein diet and the receptionist would help us to choose (one from HIS hospital!!!!!!!!! well anyways after waiting 10 min for the recept to get off the phone we just left. time for a new doc they're now just so bad there! Problem is i just cant
