My dog (80 lb Rhodesian RIdgeback) was just discharged from the hospital after having surgery to mend a broken femur (probable hit by car) by screwing a plate in and grafting from hip. The next few weeks' priorities are keeping him in crate/pen so that bone heals, keeping him from picking at/licking wounds, keeping the leg swelling down, starting gentle range of motion exercises, and addidng any supplements that will help healing. He is currently in an x-pen but may switch to his crate as he

Thank you. There is little that is as horrifying as having a dog lost for 5 days, 3 of which had heat near or above 100 degrees) then getting a call in the middle of the night that your dog is at the side of the freeway and not moving. That Good Samaritan saved his life, as did the ER vet who raised his temperature (it was 94 degrees on admission). The surgeons saved his leg. Our credit cards are maxed out, but he is so happy to see us and the look in his eyes makes it all worth it. Thank you.

Thank you! Yes, milk thistle came to mind when I read one of the med side effects was liver issues. I know milk thistle helped me clean our my system with all the meds in me. I do have some milk thistle so will start that. Will write more later--my ride is here. Thanks again. Agnes

My 6 year old male (newly neutered) rhodesian ridgeback is missing and I am desperate for help in finding him. We only had him less than two days before he accidentally ran out of the house while I was putting my son on the bus. I chased him (yes, now I know chasing was a mistake) into a resdiential area. He was spotted at a nearby dog park (Howe Ave. and Cottage Ave.) 95825 but no sightings since Friday. The park has lots of trees and a stream, and it is close to 100, so my prayer is that he is

jello makes a good cheap dessert, as does tapioca pudding (the kind where you take a few tblsp. of tapioca from box and mix w/sugar, etc. I freeze juice or flavored yogurt drinks to make popsicles. can also freeze grapes as a treat. i almost never buy stuff not on sale--just got back from safeway (bonita--i have 110 boxtops for you by the way) and saved 32%. i eat lots of lettuce/salad (again 2 for 1 price) but california may have cheaper lettuce than alabama. baked potatoes, if sour cream and cheese

Your Pregnancy Week by Week is fascinating too. It tells you what the little fetus/embryo is developing each week, how big it is, etc. Agnes

THis may sound crazy, but to me, it was the late night feedings with my hubby helping when my twins were a few weeks old. It would be pitch black and totally silent outside except for a car every few minutes or maybe rain. It took him awhile, but hubby would et up when I poked him that one baby was stirring. We would each take a baby and a bottle, and sit side by side or across from each other, holding a baby in the crook of our arm and soaking in the adoring look in their eyes, their beautiful features
