When I can't understand what she wants, I'll tell her to show me. She'll lead me to a bone on a counter, the treat cabinet, the back door, her favorite toy, etc. She is delighted with herself when she does this, lol.

Well, for Kya, it's a game. If she doesn't have a focused direction or just asks for food, then I ignore her. I think it was something that she taught herself, and I just reinforced though. She's very good at remembering where things are and where she last put them.

That sounds like a really interesting process. If Kya was more people friendly, I'd try that with her.

I just got back from the vet after taking both girls. They are healthy, and Kya lost 1/2 lb! She needed to, :-D. I'm happy. I'm going to go to the gym now. Trying to work up my enthusiasm.
