Re: joint care supplements

Glucosamine is a good start, however there isn't any research done on which single joint supplement helps a dog more so then the other. That is why I prefer to take a multi joint supplement approach. So in addition to Glucosamine I also give Chondroitin, MSM, Bromelain, Boswella Extract, Perna (Green Lipped Mussel) and HA that are all in one supplement. All of those have multiple human studies done to show their effects to help joints and with little researching you can find a ton of information

Re: Does this look like a Pit Bull?????

That's a good lookin pup right there! And don't take too much from people...I was walking a pug and was asked if it was a baby pit. I felt bad just bursting out laughing but I couldn't help myself.

Re: The Missing Link - food supplement

Good to know I find their ingredient list AFTER I looked so hard for it! Isn't that always the way though eh? lol But looking at their Guaranteed Analysis for their canine plus (which is what I'd be interested in) I stand by my statement that they don't have much of anything in it. But if it works for some people then by all means keep using it because it just means that the minimal levels of Glucosamine are helping. I guess I'm really picky in what I give my dog, specially since

Re: moca just killed a bee!! (jm)

Yeah, trust me, if it stung her and she was allergic you'd know. When my pup was stung she swelled up within seconds...called her puffy all the way to the vet. She was fine, just now I get all protective about her with bees around.

Re: The Missing Link - food supplement

I hate to be a downer to everyone who is using it or is thinking about using it. But they don't put anything in their product...just a lot of filler. Check out their own website www.missinglinkproducts.com and read their information. They don't tell you what is exactly in it and they use terms like "for an average size dog"...What's an average size dog to you? The best part is that for their plus formula they don't even list how much your dog is actually receiving of the

Re: The Missing Link - food supplement
The ingredients are on the bag and the amount of glucosamine and chondroiton (spelling) are also on the bag. I'm interested in the comparison chart though. What is the fit dog site?
Interesting...I was searching for a joint supplement for my 9 year old lab (getting a bit stiff in her older age) and couldn't find anything about Missing Link Plus on their website, or any other website about what's actually in the bag! Figures that they'd print

Re: The DogPause Bowl

I haven't even heard of them, but they do sound interesting. I have a lab and as you know, they don't even chew their food!

Re: These people can not be sane!!??

Agreed Dog_ma, it doesn't matter that we don't like how the owner of the dog went about his business about waiting or breeding his dog. The fact is that he was told he had time and he even got there a day sooner then expected. How you or I would have handled the whole situation doesn't matter (and yes I'm one of those people who would have been there within minutes).

Re: Springtime, Inc. "Longevity"?

I'm not sure how picky Cherokee is but the stuff I use for Kia isn't that bad. I mean it doesn't smell so great to me but she loves it (liver flavor yuck!). But my mom's dog who's a bit more picky (she's a pug) will wolf her food right down if I put some on hers too, so it must be good tasting to dogs. But like I mentioned before, the stuff I use is more for mobility/arthritis but it does have a decent amount of Vitamin E to help the feet. I would really suggesting checking

Re: These people can not be sane!!??

Wow, I didn't realize that shelters put animals to sleep THAT fast after getting them. I mean it mentioned that they hold animals for four days and after that they are eligible to be put up for adoption or put down, so... May 8- Dog picked up and note left on owners door May 9- Owners call May 12/May 13- Able to be adopted/put down May 15- Was put down Is it normally that fast for all shelters? I understand that there is an increase in the need of animal shelters but that seems really fast to
