Re: Where does your dog sleep at night?

Lacie and Rex sleep on dog beds in our bedroom. They each jump up and lay on the bed with me until my husband comes to bed - then they jump down and go to their beds. Zoe and Keisha sleep in their crates in our room because they are too playful and wild to leave out. Jazzy sleeps in her crate in my daughters room but the crate door is open. She just loves her crate.

Re: Let the stereotypes begin.

My older daughter has 2 German Shepherd pups (6 months old) that are sisters, and a white Boxer. Oh yeah, we hear the comments about them! And I have the 4 Standard Poodles - they're labled as silly, useless, froo-froos - and everyone thinks they're automatically friendly (which they are) just because they're the 'big poodles'.

Re: Do you let your dog lick you in the face?

Lacie and Zoe are my lickers and it doesn't bother me. And yes, sometimes they lick me in the face and no, I don't care. Rex never licks and Keisha only occasionally.

Re: Wow...what a morning! Dog park/Dog fight!

Our city has a very nice, very big 'off leash' dog park. They are now building another one on the other side of town. I have only gone a few times because we live out in the country and we have a large fenced-in area for the dogs, and my daughter and I prefer to take them walking on the county trails. Anyway, I have a friend who takes her two dogs to the dog park every single day. She loves it. I have to say that the few times I went I did enjoy it, but I was leary of some of the dogs. Not

Re: Hoping she's pregnant...

Of course, nervous 'grandma' was terrified today when I noticed that Lacie has a watery greenish discharge. No smell, she's not sick, no fever. Called the vet and feel much better now. Of course, I'm thinking Pyo or something horrible! After a lengthy discussion he's pretty sure it's a minor vaginitis. Told me what to watch for. He also said that with the way I watch my dogs he isn't the least bit worried that anything will escape my notice. He thinks it will clear on

Hoping she's pregnant...

Well, we've had Lacie and Rex together e/o day and have had 3 successful ties. We are hoping that we'll have the happy news that she's pregnant; it sure is going to be hard to wait. After reading some of the other posts I'm not sure if I should get excited or not - there are so many 'surprises' that can happen, despite good planning. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens and surround her with love and prayers.

Re: Bath time: In the tub or with the hose?

I bathe my dogs in the basement washtubs. We have a double washtub and my husband cut out the center divider and it works great! It's long and the sides are high. I attached a shower-type sprayer and it's wonderful. I bought cheap rubber matts for the floor and it all works out really well. The dogs don't mind it at all.
