http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Couple-to-plead-guilty-in-apf-15424989.html There was also an article I found which when they were indicted a year ago, defended this couple because they stated they "didn't know". What are your thoughts?

I think I need to put it in my signature because antibiotics are being rendered worthless for the same reason. And the common public is totally uneducated about this. Or they simply can't "hear" the message. When people take only a small amount of prescribed antibiotic the same effect/ result.(patient feels better, looks better, so they *keep* the remainder of the antibiotic for the *next* and sure to come infection) Partial killing of the infection/ and evolved more virulent strains

That is the thing about animal healthcare, they don't necessarily have to be as prudent as there aren't the same level of checks and balances for pets as for humans (when we are talking antibiotic use, up til recently we aren't saying much). Seems like there has been a surge of interest in pet care and the necessity to fix the probs with immunizations, pet food and these simple kinds of pet treatments...All of which shouldn't be so darned complex to understand --- and yet here we

We haven't had to bathe our Siberians at all. They are like self cleaning ovens...very little work to do to keep them beautiful. Of Course there is the bi annual blows. Brushing seems to help those times somewhat. My dogs are really gorgeous (shameless brag, lol)

Sounds like Interceptor does a really good job. Now do you need to give it every 30 days or is it ok to go a little longer than that? I am afraid of these poisons having lost a perfectly good dog to kidney failure.

These guys may get mud on them but it just comes off. That undercoat keeps the inside perfectly clean. They don't like swimming at all and will only put their feet in the ocean. I put a pool out at times in summer but the same thing. They don't care to be submerged at all. These dogs seem to have more defined blow times. My house is filled with the stuff for a couple mos. and then it is so much easier. The vaccume gets a lot of use. It is weird to find the fur in the back of closets, I mean

Interesting. I didn't know that about the effectiveness of the dose being so low that it was creating resistant heartworm. Just like so much in medicine these days. Sounds like giving appropriate dose every forty five days (or less) is good practice. And Interceptor is the best choice. Thanks so much! : )

stanton I do agree with you. My Siberians are very healthy animals. Homecooked is fresh, and you can learn how to make it balanced. If there is a disaggreable stool, you know what it is causing it and eliminate it from the diet. Some food is not good for my female while her brother can eat most things. No more old commercial dog food for this household. Not now not ever. My dogs love meal time. And I know it is good food.
