Well my vet doesn't believe probiotics work. I give my dog Probios that I buy at the pet store. If I can't get the others that were mentioned from the vet, where can I find them? Probios works good, but if it is best that I rotate occasionally, then I will.

I change the litter once a week. I scoop whenever necessary throughout the day.

My daughter owns a Fox Terrier. She loves other dogs and loves children. She is obedience trained except that she will run off if she is taken off leash outside. Actually she ran out the door. So now they would never take the leash off outside in an open area. That is about the only bad thing. She doesn't chew. She is an all around great dog with an abundance of energy. Good luck with yours. Oh, working at a shelter, I know that kennel cough can hang on for awhile.

My dog has had anal gland problems since I adopted her a year ago. What is an AG supplement?

How often does everyone's dog poop? I think my dog is use to holding it for so long, since she had been in a shelter for so long. She goes about once every other day. Is that normal? Of course all of this started since the thunderstorms started in May. When she does go, it's not especially hard or anything and she does not seem to be in any discomfort.

My dog is once again suffering from an overabundance of chlostria. It's probably brought on by the stress of thunderstorms. She is on 2 antibiotics and her stool is very soft. Once she is done with the antibiotics I'll have her on probiotics. Do you think the soft stool is from the medicine? The Vet says no. She is on amoxicillin and sulfasalazine. As a side effect from the soft stool she now has trouble with the anal glands. Does anyone know how to harden up the stool?

So you think I should use the Frontline Spray along with the Vectra?
|
|
I am very wary about combining the two chemicals. Critter Oil is all natural. So, I will either go with that or with the Natural Defense. From what I have experienced, doctors and Vets don't think much about what side effects there may be. My Vet just gave me a stronger medicine for Snicker's thunder phobia. Trazadone. But after reading the side effects of that one, I can't bring myself to give it to her. I will stick with the Valerian Root and Calms Forte. That is the best natural remedy

Has anyone tried Critter Oil for fleas and ticks? I am taking my dog to West Virginia in a few weeks and she is on Vectra. Because she is also on Proin, I can not put a tick collar on her. I feel I need more than just Vectra. I was thinking about putting Crittter Oil on her paws and around her neck. My Vet suggested Frontline spray along with Vectra, but I feel that is too much.

We use the car because we go to the parks. She use to love those walks. She goes for 3 walks a day. She's a high energy pit bull mix. One of the walks is around our neighborhood. Now she doesn't even do her "business" in our backyard. If I didn't take her for walks she would hold it till she couldn't hold it anymore. I think the "holding" is from being in a shelter for 1 1/2 years. I've tried getting her happy and in "party mode" when a storm comes
