Dyan I am sure that Gibby is now larger than Bugsy and no matter how normal their size is to us - it isn't to others. I completely understand not wanting to 'put him away' while they are there BUT if he is prone to getting over excited I personally do think it is best for all involved. Bugsy is a 'hyper' active dog who STILL at age 4 with tons and tons of NILF and other training is not able to completely relax with company. We've tried over and over and tried every method

I am going to scream or cry. Just got back from 'rehab' with B and to get him in and out I have to drive across the yard to the side of the house. Well here in the swamp they call Raleigh where it has been raining all night and it continues to, our yard which doesn't usually hold water is soft. Soft enough that my car is now stuck in it. Very stuck. I did all that I have heard to do and all that I physically can do and it is stuck. No neighbors around at work like DH so it will sit there

woohoo I got it out! A neighbor came home saw me and came over with some serious heave ho we got it. I had actually been able to move it forward a bit but the one side was just so soft it just got stuck again. I had dug it out put boards under it, then added blankets on the boards, dug some more. Wow I have never been stuck before and that was exhausting and scary. And I am mad as you know what at DH. I tell him via online chat and he says I hope the yard isn't a mess?????????????? OK now even

Oh Nik I am so sorry for you and Cairo! I think you handled it very well - I like the idea of trying to contact the owner and also writing in the paper. This particular owner may not learn but if another 1 or 2 do it helps. Cairo this dog was very bad. You are very good, I am sorry you are hurt and especially sorry you have to wear the cone. Most of all I hope that you can heal with no complications both physically and emotionally

Dawn I'm sorry he and you are going through all of this. FWIW B had very little weight gain issues, I reduced his food but it was also about the time/age I would have anyway. His hypothyroid was the autoimmune type and it is much better but even after 6 months on supplement his autoimmune factor was high. In conversation with Dr Dodds we were just happy to see it reducing. It will get into the normal range, may be has already. His itchies improved tremendously and after living on benadryl for

yea Willa - you are such a good big girl now! (night 1 in the books LOL) we went to the Raleigh Christmas parade yesterday - we always take B so it was kind of lonely. It was a good parade better than last year. It is really weird to me though that they hold it so early. Today lots of chores and then some more chores. The weather and work has not provided the opportunity to fully clean up the yard after those storms last week so the yard needs a lot of attention as does my house. We are only have
Does it make me a bad mom if I wish and hope that it is Hypothyroidism? Because if it isn't I am not sure what else to look for.
Not at all - hypothyroidism is easy to deal with - it costs $16 for a 3 month supply and seriously the change in B's skin was absolutely the biggest change we saw. Other than that I would say it is a food allergy. B had ear issues from about 6 mos old until we figured out the chicken, turkey, egg, flax problems. Anytime I see

Alright gang help me out here, I'm borderline freaking out B has been doing super despite all the meds they have thrown at him. We finished all the Tramadol and antibiotic, haven't used the Trazedone, and have been taking (1) 100mg Rimadyl every morning. No problems what so ever. i asked the surgeon on Tuesday if I could stop the Rimadyl, he said his experience is it is best to use it for 1 month post op. OK doc I'll hang on. Well then we have a confluence of things occur and a problem

Thanks - I am trying to lean that way - but he has never really had GI issues. Usually if a food (like her treats) contain an allergen he has hives and skin issues. He can get loose poop from it but it passes quickly. I was doing OK until I saw the blood. As someone who personally has never had GI issues is there anything i should do for him?
