You have gotten a lot of great advice and I also think a trip to the doc might be in order AND Jackie's suggestion of a sleep study is really something to consider, but a doc can look at several things and perhaps try and help rule out stuff like sleep apnea, etc. Where I WOULD caution you about a doc is that all too often people are ready to toss you a pill to deal with the issue, and I don't think that this would be among my top 10 list of things to try at this point. You should probably have that looked at. Things like ulcers can actually feel like hunger pains and subside when you eat. Though the pain you are having seems higher than it should be for many ulcers, but I dont know. I have a condition where my body cycles making too much stomach acid. The pain was similar to what you describe and when I went to the doctor about 10 years ago now he thought it could be an ulcer. He sent me to a gastro doc who said the same and did an endoscopy. Fellow cruiser here! though I haven't been on one for about 20 years. my mom was a travel agent for a few years when I was young and my dad collected ocean liner memorabilia off of old ocean liners that weren't around anymore. So my parents had a love for cruising and usually took me with them. I have been on a dozen or more, mostly to the Caribbean and Mexico. Love it, couldn't live without it and you absolutely won't regret it. The apps, IMO, are what make this phone superior to many others out there and the ability to manage it all in iTunes. I even use it at work for my patients with memory and cognitive problems and it has helped them tremendously. Just go for it!
