My first dog was purchased from a petstore when my family lived in Texas and I was around 5 or 6. She was a yellow lab pup. She was a great dog. However, she was never spayed and ended up with 9 puppies, 8 of which survived. We gave the pups away and when my parents were looking for a new house to rent they turned her in to the shelter after not being able to find a home for her. My parents reasoning was that my mom was allergic (which she was, but my dad really wanted a dog and that they couldn't

I'm only just seeing this. So sad. Brings back memories of Buster's last days. I'm so sorry for your loss. Run free sweet girl.

I've never fed the puppy, although my dogs did well on the adult and senior formulas. They really liked them. I'm feeding Blue Buffalo now and have been toying with going back to chicken soup because it is cheaper and right now cheaper is better for me.

Thanks everyone. I feel much better knowing this, although it totally freaked me out. It's funny, I grew up with gerbils and hamsters, and have held mice and rats, but mice in my house totally freak me out!! Finn is fine and I'm guessing he just gave it one lick. EWWWW! I'm so hoping I don't see anymore and I'm SO glad I didn't step on it or anything!

Petsmart employees are not allowed to just pick up a dog, let alone pet it without the owners permission first. Next time, I would suggest you tell a manager. It is stressed to employees that they MUST ask the owner first before petting the dog, then they must show the back of their hand to the dog and properly greet the dog. This employee would have had at least a talking to about the proper wa of greeting dogs within the store. That just isn't right.

This morning while feeding the dogs in my kitchen Finn discovered a dead mouse on the floor. We discovered 2 days ago that we have mice again and had thoroughly cleaned the kitchen and are currentlyy searching for holes where they are coming in. Today, I find a dead mouse??? What would make a mouse just die on my kitchen floor? And there is a possibility that Finn licked the mouse, could he run into any problems from doing this? Thanks for any info!
