Re: Alcoholism/Relationships

It is up to him to decide when he wants to get better. I can't make him do it (although it would be nice!). He is head over heels for this girl. Yes, it is hard for me to watch because I do get a little jealous even though I don't want that kind of a relationship with him, but then I remind myself that if he was a healthy person, then he would be able to choose the healthy relationship. He doesn't make these choices to hurt me or the rest of his family, but because emotionally, he is

Alcoholism/Relationships

I dated Tommy for about a year and we decided to be just friends about a year ago. We are about as close as we can get. I rent his double wide and he has a mobile home on the same property. I am also very close with his family who lives next door and behind my house. I wouldn't change that situation for anything. I don't have any intentions of being with Tommy again, but I hate to see him set himself up for failure. He is an alcoholic...no doubt. Nothing I can do to change that...he has to

Re: Alcoholism/Relationships

My mother is a recovering alcoholic and has been sober for a long time. My dad drinks, but not in excess (at least not that I am around or know of). I love Tommy to death and would do anything I could to help him. But, there is only so much I can do. I always let him know that I am here if he needs me (which ends up being a lot). He tells me a lot that he can't/won't tell others. He is a very good person and he would do anything for me, but he has a problem. I admit that it is a little hard

Re: Alcoholism/Relationships

There is no way he could ever be a "casual" drinker. Its either all or nothing. I try to tell this to his mom, but she thinks he can have one or two drinks and be ok...nope, one or two leads to a dozen. In my brain, everything is reasonable. I tell his mom, "I wish he would just hit bottom already so he can get it over with." He met a girl at a biker rally (great place to meet good girls) this weekend, and hes driving 2 hours to see her next weekend...stupid! But, his choice.

Quick! How to send an Access document in Outlook.

I'm trying to send the dog registration to the ACO, and Outlook keeps blocking me from sending it. Does anyone know how to get around this?

Re: Quick! How to send an Access document in Outlook.

Yeah, I could print it, but she wants to be able to change stuff in it...but, I zipped it and I was able to send it. Our weird IT guy took access off her computer for some reason, so I had to go put it back on. But its all good now!

Re: How much do you spend on dog food per month?

I'm not positive because I've been feeding two different foods, but one 40# bag should last me around a month or at least 3 weeks. So, probably $27-$40 a month...Thats just an estimate. I'm feeding 4 dogs between 12-14 lbs and one 95 lb dog.

Horse Transport

I've been really wanting to get a horse lately...the bug has bitten me again! I had horses most of my life, but haven't had one since I've been on my own. I have plenty of space for one and my landlord/friend is encouraging me (a bad thing to do with an animal lover!) I've been looking at a few around here and trying to figure out how much I need to save. My mom sent me an email asking for me to look into hauling from Tehacapi, CA to here for her horse. She has a 15 yr old QH. Hes

Re: I'm stuck in New Jersey (Xeph)

I'm so sorry that all of this is happening Xeph. You have done the best you can for yourself and for your dogs. You did not place them in danger in any way and I would hope that a good co-owner would understand the extreme circumstances of the situation. I will never co-own a dog with anyone other than my mentor. I technically co-own one of them, own one, and I'm not even on the papers of the others. We have no contract but he would NEVER take the dogs from me. If I ever have a problem where

Re: Barking (yapping) Dogs ~ Rant

I have been on the yapping side of the problem. When I moved into my apartment, Rose was very scared. I left her alone and she didn't even have a dog for a friend. She barked all day. However, when I got home, she was quiet so I didn't know. My office people (they sat outside my apartment to smoke since I was right next to the office) asked if she was ok because she was barking all day. I really did not know she was barking all day because as soon as she heard my car, she quit. Once I got
