Re: RE: Help... oh help.

Just wanted to update. Crusher's neck is looking lots better. He lost a fair amount of fur on his neck but its growing back and unless you really felt around and parted his fur, you would never have noticed it. Its no longer tender and although he occasionally still sits down a does a quick scratch at it, it doesnt seem to bother him. I wanted to say Thank You to all those that helped. You have no idea how grateful I am.

Re: Blockage Symptoms

Well she still hasn't vomitted... but she is lathargic... but it is bedtime and she's in her crate... she wasn't before she went to bed. Maybe I'll get her up and see if she has any energy. I don't know if that will be very accurate though seeing as this is her down time.

Re: castor and pollux ultramix

I just had a meeting with the Castor & Pollux rep yesterday. I still am not a fan of the fruit and veggies throughout the food. It has banana and apples dried and those are so high in sugar. Even if it is natural sugar, its still sugar. I won't give those to my chinchilla or rabbit for that reason. I've been thinking of trying the Organix line for a while, but I really like the results I'm getting from Nature's Variety. I might try the Organix next time I buy food because I have

Re: Therapy Dog People...
(Many times it is the same conversation, but that's okay too.)
You noticed that too. When we were doing it at a nursing home we heard the same stories every time. Dogs loved to do it but it was really hard on me seeing people go downhill so fast. Eventually it just burned me out.

Re: RE: Favorite signature quotes

I love DPU's creativity! Play! Play! Play! That's our job...POSTS ARE STILL EMPTY AND I CAN ONLY MAKE ONE POST WITHIN A THREAD...PMs also shoot blanks It's terrible that he can't post, but you've got to give him points for still getting a message across!

Re: RE: allergies

Blood testing for allergies can be much more accurate in my experience. I took Jessie to a veterinary dermatologist and she sent Jessie's blood to Heska. The results listed specific trees, grasses, weeds, and insects she was allergic to. She also did the skin test and used the results from both to determine which allergens should go into the allergy vaccine for Jessie. She gets an injection from a vaccine made specifically for her allergies; it's called allergy immunotherapy, or allergy shots

Re: When to spay?
...i haven't before heard a relationship between spay/neyter and coat.
Very well known in coated breeds. I have noticed that in many male shelties that were neutered at a young age. That shot of male hormones helps the coat obtain it's full potential.

Re: Therapy Dog People...

My basenjis certainly aren't as friendly as goldens, but they are calm and stable. If I ask them to "step up" they will, they are happy to let strangers pet them, happy to do an array of dog-and-pony tricks. I actually think an overly friendly dog would be harder to train to be a therapy dog. The patients/residents don't seem to notice and are probably happier with my basenjis as they would be with a demanding, pushy, overly friendly dog. And my basenjis have learned their "job"

Re: Do I dare ask this question/Pit attacks my neighbor
Okay.... Please explain to me why the dog down our street has gotten out of his 6 foot Privacy fence and first attacked a neighbors dog badly a month ago.... Then he got out again and went after a man and got his hand and landed this neighbor in the ER with 20 stitches and lots of punture wounds. ... The Pit got out and took her to the ground... the two ladies fought like mad and thank heavens a neighbor driving by with his window down heard the screams and he

Re: Is anyone else having this problem?

Yes. Granted, I had laser eye surgery early in the summer and I am extra sensitive to light, but the new layout is on he edge of unbearable for me. I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep reading and posting - it is that bad for me. Too much white!!! This is the only website I have a problem with, and so I don't feel eager to start fuzting about with my monitor's settings. Please, please, power that be: change the colors.
