Where can I find dog events in my area?

Is there a website where I could go look for events that are close to my area. Williamston has an agricultural center where horse events take place but I don't think they do any dog events. Pitt County has some stuff but I haven't found anything yet. Is there such a website?

It just depends on what kind of events that your interested in...

For more on conformation, agility, rally, tracking, earth dog, lure coursing or herding events, here's the A.K.C's events weblink.. Just choose which events that your interested in, your state and the dates..  http://www.akc.org/events/search/

The North American Dog Agility Association has a calendar of events:  http://www.nadac.com/afrm/trial-calendar.asp

For flyball events, here's a really great site to check out.. It's the North American Flyball Association website, where you can check out all of their sanctioned events, and upcoming tours:  http://www.flyball.org/index.html

For general fun events, like S.P.C.A. walks, fundraisers, or other canine social events, check out The Bark's list of upcoming happenings:  http://thebark.com/community/events/events.html

Another one to check out is Dogchannel.com's list of weekly canine events, or performance related events:  http://www.dogchannel.com/dfdc_portal.aspx

And lastly, here's a link of dog clubs in and around North Carolina:  http://www.barkbytes.com/sclubs/ncclub.htm

Hope some of these helpBig Smile

Thanks, I like agility a lot but there are no trial near me all of them are hours away and I know my dad would never take me to one that far away Raleigh probably but other places are just too far.

Is there a way to find local people that show their dogs? I hate to go asking around as I don't know folks in town.

See if there's a yahoogroup - for example, look up TxShowDogs on yahoo- that's my regional list for showdog people. You can also try joining the show lists (for example, Showcardi, Showpem, Eskieexhibitors) for any breeds you are particularly interested in- with the caveat that those lists are pretty conformation heavy.

Thanks for the links, I think the closest to me or an hour to 2 hours away. I will ask my friend if we could go to an event in Youngsville (that an hour and like 35mins away) soon, I want to really see an agility trial in person!

Check with your local dog school.

Mine keeps me informed about everything in my area that is dog related.
