Canadian petstores online (Thor & Calinisima)

Hello! We are like crazy here, our travel will be next week.

I was trying to buy some things for Thor and the cats at Petsmart website and the charge for international delivery is VERY expensive, I haven't tried Petco or dog.com websites... Please, if you know a canadian website where I can buy cat beds, bowls, feliway, a drinkwell fountain for the cats and all of that, please let me know, I want to have everything set up for the moment they arrive, specially the feliway. Though I have a spray bottle already with me.

       Thanks for your help!!

Wanted to add that Petsmart ask me to remove some products from the cart, like the fountain and biodegradable bags, because of the shipping address in Canada. Sad Don't know why.

Re: Canadian petstores online (Thor & Calinisima)

The only big Canadian pet store that I know of is Petland.  I looked up one of their Calgary locations and saw this:

"Petland Calgary South Trail features a large selection of tropical fish, small animals, reptiles, puppies, and kittens and unmatched customer service."

I don't know where they get their animals from that they sell but.... well, I would investigate the practises of a store before buying there.  Not sure of any other Calagary pet stores though.

    Sorry  Sad

Calinisima,  I have emailed a friend of mine that lives 1 hour north of Calgary for the names of the major GOOD petstores... Will send along the info as soon as I hear back from her.

Thank you so much. Do you think it's difficult to buy all what we want from here? I want to buy online, so all the stuff will be sitting at out house, when we arrive.

I don't know how *hard* it may be with the local Calgary stores... but, this is the company that I order all my grooming supplies from :

    http://www.treasurecoast.ca/

They have been absolutely fantastic to work with...husband/wife team.  Whenever I have a show coming up, I order what I need from them, and since they have a huge booth a pretty well every show in either Quebec or Ontario, they just bring my order with them... no shipping charges applied ! :)

I'm sure if you explain your situation to them, they will be more than willing to work it out !

Sorry... just re-read your initial post... I believe that Treasure Coast sells mostly DOG supplies...not sure on how much CAT supplies they actually carry.

I tried to seperate these into paragraphs but my post got messed up sorry!!! Hey, I'm a calgarian.. here are the major pet stores we have.. the private ones dont usually ship. Petland petland.ca Sells puppies, kittens, birds, fish hamsters, gerbils, mice, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, reptiles.. anything under the sun basically. They buy from accidental litters, backyard breeders, and small puppy millers. However, they also have a rescue foundation which rescues its animals from rural parts of alberta. Petsmart petsmart.ca Sells reptiles, birds, fish and small mammals. Does not sell puppies or kittens, but is affiliated with rescue foundations like arf and the meow foundation and lets them showcase their animals for adoption in their buildings. Paws Pet food Sells reptiles and fish. Has mostly dog supplies, though. Pisces Pet Emporium piscespets.com Seriously these guys are the biggest pet sellers.. they have anything from quails and doves for pets to skinks, puppies and kittens. Only has one location in calgary in the north. And my absolute favourite.. Pet Planet! I work at the doggy daycare. ;) petplanet.ca Does not sell any animals at all. sells awesome food, has daycare and boarding stores as well.

    ***These aren't my dogs!***
If my picture is too big please tell me. :)

Yes, they do Candace.  Though I think that's a recent development.  The person at the company who handles international orders told me about 20 minutes ago that they ship to Canada frequently.  If you need anything, send me a list and I'll get it priced up with shipping for you.

Global Pet Foods specialized in more holistic products and foods, and I pulled up a list of locations in Alberta for you, but unfortunately you can't buy from their website.  Sad  They provide their contact numbers, if that helps...?

    http://www.globalpetfoods.ca/locations/locations_results.php

http://www.renspets.com/  I know that their based in Ontario, but I do believe that Ren's ships all over Canada, and at not bad prices too.  Their catalogue is great to browse over, and you can purchase online.

http://www.petsupplyhouse.com/ They ship all across Canada, but not into the U.S.  You can buy direct from their webstore.

Good luck on the impending move!  Don't forget to buy Thor his Timbit!Wink
