    Cart or wagon pulling

I didnt know what section to put this under. I was wondering if any of you all could give me a website to finding a cart or wagon or the parts I need to put on a cart/wagon so I could get my dogs a little job to do once in a while. They would just be pulling Samantha(27lbs) around and giving me a break from pushing her in a stroller on walks once in a while.

    Re: Cart or wagon pulling

There's a photo on my Flickr account (username dogstaracademy) of a home-built carting setup (pulled by a Doberman) built using a Little Red Wagon, some electrical conduit, and PVC pipe. (And duct tape) Total cost was about $40 (they already ahd the wagon but needed to buy some kind of bolt to hold the conduit to the bit of the wagon- they'd sawed the handle off.

Carting is REALLY fun- I'm going to try it with Mal and Kaylee in the fall. I've done some scootering in the past but need a real scooter and that keeps getting put off- every time I get enough money, I end up with some sort of vet bill or a car repair or something.

Me too!  Was getting Shadow to that stage when he got sick.  Hot Shot is the perfect size, will have to wait til fall as I cant get him out of the air conditioned house right now, Wink  Rocky stays with me outside and he is willing and stong enough but still a little young for much weight, maybe next year for him.

I want to wait for the fall too because I want to concentrate on fixing the cart. When ever my father brings it from his friends house I will start fixing it.

There's a UKC club starting, here, and at their first show, in Sept, they're having weight pull. I'm SO excited to see it! I need another dog, though. Emma isn't suitable to pull anything, and Ena is a Chinese Crested....

That sounds like fun! I wish I knew of nearby places I could go like that with my friends but I don't have any friends.

Find the dog people, and you'll make friendsSmile I'm *so* excited for this dog show! There isn't ever anything cool like that, here. I'll be there, assisting with CGC evaluations, promoting my grooming shop, and showing Ena. It's going to be a TON of fun.

AND now I get to watch weight pull!!! That is going to be SO COOL! I need another dog.... *sigh*
