glenda, everytime i see you as the last poster on this thread i am praying it is because you have good news, while i am opening the thread (which of course is painfully slow)!!

    it's going to happen damnit!!!!

Me too girlfriend, me too!  Glenda, I've been following your saga from day one and I have nothing but respect for how well you're handling it.  Most people would have given up a long time ago and done doG knows what.  Hang in there, the tide will change. Paradise

Glenda, I don't post much, but have been following your thread.  All the best wishes are coming from Texas (relocated from Marquette, MI of all places).  This sounds like it has been an unbelieveable journey for you both!

Have you thought of writing all of this down?  Maybe you could write about/publish it or turn it into a stand-up comendy routine?  Jerry Seinfeld got pretty far on a lot less!!!  (((HUGS))))

Absolutely -- Glenda, I'm not at all sure of the 'why' of this, but I went thru a time in my life that lasted several years ... and it just felt like it got worse and worse (and I was alone at the time which really sucked) but I look back on those years as a time when I was able to look back in some real wisdom -- it helped me figure out what was and was *not* important.  I made some real changes in my own head during that time and altho it wasn't fun, I guess it was what *I* had to do.

But prayers? Oh yes.  Not *just* for it to all get fixed, blown away into the wind and "all better" but simply also for you to have strength, wisdom and day to day ability to walk step by step by step by step ... and you will get there!

Re: Raindrops keep falling on my head.....

DS was up over the weekend.  He was too weak to work, but it was good for him to get away from there and be HERE where he could rest, get well fed, and relax a bit without a lot of expectations.  He's lost about 20 lbs in the past 6 or 8 weeks, which he really couldn't afford to loose.  Apparently step mom is in her non-cooking mode, since no one else really appreciates vegan meals, so there are just NO meals.  He's eating at a Coney place frequently.  I hate to think what that's doing to his cholestrol!  He's also anxiously awaiting a job for Todd so that HE can go with us.  As much as it's time for him to have his own life, he sure doesn't have it with the ex.

Still don't have my sportage back.  They are waiting for airbags, which apparently can't be sent by air, to arrive.  But, they put me in a loaner for now and I don't go too many places anyhow.  Hopefully it'll be ready for me by mid week next week.

I have a court date next Tuesday to dispute the ticket.

    What else?

Todd is supposed to go to NH the week of the 14th for an interview.

Oldest DS lost his job after 8 years......but has another one already, and frankly, I think he's relieved to be out of the place he was working.

I'm not online a whole lot  because the dialup is incredibly slow and my friend only has one phone line which I try to not tie up when she's here.  I'm thinking of all of you guys though.

Please keep the positive thoughts coming.

Gosh Glenda, I'm sure everyone feels like I do. We're all still thinking about you and wishing with all our might that things will turn around. I've said it before, but I give you so much credit for holding it all together and being there for your family. We miss your posts, but we'll be here when things settle down for you.

Thanks so much.  I have my days when I just don't even want to get out of the RV, but I do.  So, I'm pushing through the depression when it tries to get me.  Some days are easier than others.

This has to end soon though.  I'm just about at the end of my rope and hanging on by fingernails.........it's much worse for poor Todd.

Re: Raindrops keep falling on my head.....

Glenda still got my fingers and toes crossed for you guys!   I am glad your hanging on and sorry to hear that Todd is taking the situation hard.  My DH lost his job last Januray (got fired - long story) after 17 years and couldn't find another one for 14 months.  He worked for the state motor vehicle inspecting cars so he really didn't have a trade to find another job.

He had a couple of low paying part time opportunities but couldn't find a good paying job he would like.  Thankfully we had my salary to keep us going, pay bills and keep food on the table but still he was so depressed!!!  I kept telling him "things happen for a reason" and some day he will look back and say - that job sucked anyway!  He was really down and depressed and I started to worry about him.  He went to trucker school got his class A and landed a job now driving for AMVET trucking clothes from donation bins to the factility.  HE LOVES THIS JOB!!  And guess what?  He brings home $800.00+ more $$ per paycheck than he ever did at his previous job.

I know its scary and its hard especially for the men but I also know that "things happen for a reason" -- its hard to know what that reason is now and its a hard road for you but I just know things will turnaround Glenda.  Maybe this interview in NH will pan out and bring with it all the good things you deserve.  My fingers, prayers and best wishes are always with you.  HANG IN THERE !

I've been following along with this thread Glenda, and I don't know what to say, except that I am keeping you and yours in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: Raindrops keep falling on my head.....

      Hang in there Glenda; it will end soon. We were in a situation similar to what luvmyswissy described. DH lost his job after 24 years; the corporation completely closed down. He was in his 50's and had to start over. We didn't want to leave the area because we wanted to stay near our grandchildren. He tried to start a business, then worked as a real estate agent for about six months but wasn't well suited for it; he had been a scientific documentalist. Finally, after about a year, he found another job and has been working there ever since; he's very happy there. I think about you every day and will keep praying.{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}

Re: Raindrops keep falling on my head.....

NH got pushed back, but the GM seems to have a "plan" and feels that Todd is destined to be there. We'll see.

NV emailed yesterday as well, which was a big surprise on a Sunday.

    We'll see what happens.

Mom's house is supposedly "sold" again.  This time the closing is on Thursday, so hopefully, it happens this time.  It costs her money to keep the house and she's clearly never going to live in it again, so it NEEDS to sell.  the housing market up here totally sucks, the MI economy is really awful, with the highest unemployment rate in the nation.

Oldest DS has a new job, and youngest DS is on his way to Chicago today for an interview.  Failing that he has a job in state installing voice over something or other at a bank chain.  The "kids" seem to bounce back quicker than us old folks.

Sorry I've not been on much and not at all with an update.  Getting computer time isn't easy here lately,

Oh Glenda, I wish there was something I could do to help.  I guess my thoughts and prayers will have to do until I hit the lottery....Things will work out soon I just know it.
