Who Here Brings Their Dog to Work?

I may really not like my job so much (long story), but I do like one big perk - dog friendly office where Ari is welcome :)  Today is here second day with me at the office and she's doing great!  She LOOOOVES car rides, and is really pretty good for a 13-week old staying quiet in the crate.  It also forces me to actually TAKE my lunch hour (I often do not) and there's a field across the street, I let her get her zoomies out and we do a little clicker training.  Any errands I may need to run she comes with me.

Anyone else able to bring their dog to work with them and what type of job do you do (I am an account/office manager for an IT/Networking company (small company).

I do!  I work in a very small satellite office, where it's just myself, my bf, and one guy who pops in once a week, so it's very easy to bring my dog with me to work.  BF, of course, doesn't mind, since Harry is our dog, and the guy who comes by once a week or so has 2 Danes, so he loves having Harry in the office.  I keep toys here for him and we take short breaks to play, plus on my lunch break, and other than that he pretty much naps most of the day, so he's no bother at all while I'm working.  I love having him with me all day!

YAAY!  I love being able to bring Ari - and I'm glad she is fairly well behaved (some whining when I leave my office to say go to the bathroom, but it lasts all of 3 seconds now and she gets over it knowing I will be back shortly).  Being in a small office helps. I was initially concerned about my office partner (she only shares my office Wednesday afternoons and Fridays) since she is wary of dogs (she's been attacked, sadly, several times), but Ari has her completely charmed :)   Ari is typically on her best behavior away from home lol.

Woo Hoo Ari, way to go! Sounds like a lil extra stimulation is good for you! Now if we could just keep those chompers closed at home your momma could buy her some new jammies, LOL!

Really though how cool for you adn Ari, a great bonding experience for sure!

I managa a dog friendly hotel and will bring a dog with me from time to time and its like they know they have to be on their best behavior. I've alwasy wondered if they smell the place and think "Oh so this is where she goes all day", LOL!

Oh yes she looooves coming here - even if she does get a bit bored being in her crate (but then again she'd be in her crate at home so at least she's around me.  She is WIPED out right now, sacked out - I took her to run around in the field with a 20' lead till she zoomed herself out, then we did some clicker training.  Then it was back in and ran a few errands (post office and bank deposit).  I think she knows "do you want to go in the car?" already!  Soon she'll understand "Do you want to come to work?" which is what I ask her and right now she just stares at me perplexed and really looking like she's trying to figure it out.

We're working on the chompers bit and I would like some new jammy bottoms lol, and a new pair of jeans (she bit a hole in the butt area!), and two new pairs of workout pants *shakes head*.  Ari IS though getting better, even if sometimes she has epic bitey face moments.

I do! I work at an animal shelter and Soda comes to work with me everyday. She, for some reason, loves it. She just sits in an office alone all day with about a 30 minute play time at lunch and after work we play on the front lawn for 30 or 40 minutes. She's becoming much more social just from seeing people come and go all day. It's really neat. I love it when I have time to actually do work in my office because I know Soda'll be there to hang out with me and cuddle a bit. :)

Re: Who Here Brings Their Dog to Work?

One of the conditions when I first got Luke was that I could only get him if he came to work with me.  Back then I used to go straight from work to the barn every day and if my dog wasn't at work with me I'd never see him.

I do payroll and human resource stuff at my family's business (lumber industry), so yeah, it's a little easier to get away with having dogs at work.  Neither Luke nor Kaiser have (or ever will) miss a single day at work.  My office looks like a dog kennel with three dog beds, food/water dishes and toys/bones all over the place.  lol

    Luke -- Lab/Shepherd (1-1-04)
Kaiser -- Alaskan Klee Kai (12-30-07)
    Sar -- Arabian gelding (4-11-80)
    Norman -- Percheron/TB gelding (6-18-00)

I'm a dog walker so of course Apollo gets to come with me!

He recently hurt his paw, so he's taking this week off and staying at home, and I miss him so much when I'm with his buddies because I know he'd love to be there!

I work at a kennel and I teach obedience. My dogs all get to go to the kennel, and when I teach, I usually have one of them with me. (It used to be Ares, but he can't anymore. I'm starting to use Tyr, but that tends to be a little more awkward because he's clingy.)

Re: Who Here Brings Their Dog to Work?

I have been bringing my dogs to work for more than twenty years.  I work for a small company and everyone loves dogs.  I boundary train so they learn not to go out doors.  I only take one dog at a time.  The company owner brings his Weim every day also.  Mostly I bring my Jack Russell, he loves everyone and all the delivery people love him.  We have crates and dog beds and dog chairs!  Of course, good manners are a must.  Our dogs are both grown and trained so they aren't confined to a crate unless there is a special reason.  Great for Ari and you!  I love Flat Coats and they are on my long list of dogs I would love to own.

Tootsie, comes to work with me every Friday and she loves it. I work in a auto upholstery shop where I answer phones, do invoices, order supplies, etc... Tootsie is quiet as a mouse and greets every customer, including the UPS man. I love it and know she does.
