Yea I can deffinately see Lulu and Luna getting mixed up.  Hmm new names....fun :o)   She seems like she's got a lot of heart and spunk so she'll need a name that reflects that.... Not that you need me to tell you that, I'm sure you already know Wink

mrv you're giving me cold prickles -- I HAD a Pollyanna.  (Just about the time I originally joined I-Dog -- the little female -5 months old- who had her back broken by her abuser.) She only lived 3 months -- her injuries were just too great (she had a blood clot that apparently the vets couldn't find and she had a stroke and died).  It was such a perfect name for her -- even tho she was a dog she played "The Glad Game" better than any human!!

You're absolutely on the right track -- that's the type of name I LOVE to pick for a dog!!  Thank you!

Re: Rescuing Lulu (Callie) 062708 newest update

I got an email from the foster mom.  She got her rabies shot at the vet today (that was probably inevitable) ... but then she also had the vet check her because an eye looked not good.  And she's got an ulcerated cornea.

Oh boy .. bless her little heart.  I can see with that hard plastic cone that even those buttons could nick and eye if she was pressing against a hard surface to 'scratch' or try to get to herself.  A dog determined to itch can do amazing things.

She also got her "vets certificate" ... and now does have to return to the vet next Thursday for a 'check up' on the eye.

But they did let me have a full copy of her records.  They wanted to JUST send it to my vet and I insisted *I* wanted it.  I can't allow the possibility that we could be "on the way home" and she gets sick and has to go to an e-vet -- *I GOTTA HAVE RECORDS* in my *own* hand.

Me?  pushy?  You bet, but I've learned all of it the hard way I think!

     You? Pushy?

You and Emma need to hang out. You'd get along so wellWink Actually, I don't know why you don't have a terrier. I guess the hound and the Peke and now the Pug are enough pushy, LOL

cos I'm pushy in a nice way ... and I hate arguments. I won't argue, but I may talk you to death to get my point across.  Luna "argues" with me and I hate it.  Bad choice!  My mother IS a terrier ... *sigh* .... enough said.  I've spent my entire life learning NOT to be my mother!

Good for you.  I fall into the "pushy" category, too although I like to consider it being persuasive!  If you are coming through Houston, let me know if you need anything at all!  Seriously.  Anything.

I'm going to try my hand with the name thing (although I do believe they name themselves)

Eliza - from My Fair Lady - although starts off rough, but she's got heart and cleans up in the end

Subira - Swahili origin - menas "patience has its reward" - all she has to do is be patient until you get there!  I guess you could do Subi as a nickname

Lien - not sure if that is too close to Luna - Chinese (a little shout out to her pug heritage) it means lotus - as you probably know, a lotus flower has to grow through murky pond water to have a beautiful blossom.  reminds me of her journey to you and better health!

and yes, i looked through a baby name website to get these!

Ahhh I was going to try a name suggestion or two, but these have put me off - no way could I top these! I love Subi especially.  Smile

Re: Rescuing Lulu (Callie) 062708 newest update

I've got a list started -- my husband steadfastly REFUSES to really discuss them until we 'meet' her.  For him it's all about personality ... I'm just wanting to be 'prepared' (Bilbo was on my 'list' for Billy and t'was I who named Pollyanna).

Shoot you should have seen me on the Disney website last night in the "Make your own fairy" part (that has a huge 'name generator') ... *sigh* -- I'm just 'over the top' I know .... but heckfire -- I MEAN WELL!!! *(laughing hysterically)*

Lien has too much the "L" sound (unfortunately so does Eliza which I also really liked) -- but I've added all to my list.  LISTS ARE GOOD!!!
