I fed Science Diet early on, the vet was always giving out free samples, and my dogs did well on it, but then I read the ingredients and realized it is waaaay overpriced, since it really has the same stuff in it as grocery store foods. I have since fed both Pro Plan and Purina One with the same results as the SD and alot lighter on the budget. I use a food called Natural Life that is at Walmart and Natural Balance when it's on sale at Petco too, don't know if you can get that though.

I have never had a good experience with any Hill's products no matter how many times I've tried it - not with any of my animals.  It's funny because vets keep convincing me to use it, and I feel apprehensive because of bad experiences in the past so I go ahead and buy it, only to become once again dissapointed.  I has happened about 4 or 5 times.

The Pro Plan salmon and rice is actually a good formula and something I would not hesitate to use.  I don't like any of the other pro plan formulas though, I know some like them but I don't find the ingredients to be any better than Science Diet to be honest.

I agree, proplan salmon and rice is an ok food. Everything else they make is not, nor is anything made by Hill's.

ok, so i switched moca cold turkey, cause she had been getting worse with the poops the last few days, so i went out on a limb.

well she had soft poops for all of 24 hours!!!! after that: perfect poops! and way less too, although i am feeding about the same amount! i will definately be buying the big bag and see how she does on it long term! starting tomorrow i will up the amount per meal, to attempt to put some weight back on her. she is waayyy to skinny. poor girl hasnt absorbing anything of the old food it seems! i'm so happy!

Are you doing the Pro Plan Selects Salmon and Brown Rice or the regular Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach which is Salmon and Brewers Rice?  We do the latter and have had very good results.  Actually I do use both but the Selects is more of a mixer at times for variety.  Dublin has major stomach issues with food change and this seems to do the job well for us. The regular Pro Plan Salmon has very few ingredients and we had to find something very simple for him.   And might I  add that every dog I have had that ate Pro Plan has had the most gorgeous coat.  Good luck to you.

it just says "salmon and rice formula" no mention of brown rice.

i am hoping for improvement in her coat as well. it has started to get kinda weird lately. i feel so bad. she had been eating the optima stuff for a while cause at the time it was the only thing i could find that agreed with her stomac and she did just fina on it, until a few weeks ago....
