Another popular "fresh" fragrance is Calyx by Prescriptives.

I hardly ever wear perfume anymore, usually just a bodyspray, but if I do wear perfume, it is either made by Prescriptives or Armani.  Not sure why, but both of these brands have scents that I really like.  I wore Calyx for years and always got compliments on it....it is a little more citrus if I remember correctly.  They used to also have one called Flirt that got tons of compliments.  I don't think they make it anymore.  I don't remember the name of the ones that I like by Armani.

    Re: Favorite perfume?

I was out for a girls night.  It usually includes dinner & then shopping.  We walked into a store that sells perfume & other beauty stuff.  I don't normally go in those type stores since I don't wear make-up or perfume.  Well, I got hooked on a Michael Coors scent....Island.  It's fresh smelling.  Kind of like summer.  My g/f bought it for me as an early birthday present.

I wear Burberry, the original.  It does have a bit of vanilla I think but it's barely there.  The scent is nice and soft, not overpowering at all.

Infiniti, thanks for breaking down all the VS choices.. one of those might work!

Thanks everyone,  this really is VERY helpful. I am making a list of the ones to try next and see what he thinks of them.  He doesn’t have to like it, but while I am gaga over certain scents on him, we have yet to find the right scent for me that drives him gaga. Stick out tongue Since it is time to spend some money on something new, and since I want something nice for the wedding and honeymoon, we figured this was a good time to do a search.

    Re: Favorite perfume?

This may sound wacky but Loves Baby Soft is a scent that DH loves.  He does not like perfumes much and complains when we pass woman who are wearing it and tells me all the time how sexy I smell from the $8 bottle of perfume. Wink

I have many colonge that make me go GAGA over him but he goes go GAGA over such a innocent scent as loves baby soft - go figure.

PS:  When I wear it to the office many woman ask, what are you wearing? It is so nice and I laugh and tell them - we laugh our butts off!

I don't really know much about them, but I know that women wearing too much perfume gives me an immediate headache.  Same goes with the guys that wear too much cologne.  Grrrr....

Same here.  Normaly outside I'm OK, but there are days I can't be near a couple of people at work even out on the playground because of the perfume they wear.  Obviously, I don't wear any.

I don't wear perfume, not for some particular reason, I usually just forget to put it on.  But....my girlfriend gave me some good advice before my honeymoon.  Buy something new and wear it there.  When you get home, don't wear it everyday or even often so when you do wear it it will remind you of that time and place.  I thought she was crazy, but it totally works.  I wore Happy by Clinque on my honeymoon and now all I have to do is smell the bottle and it brings right back!

    Re: Favorite perfume?

My scent of choice is only appropriate in the winter or fall, it's very strong.  Cinnabar by Estee Lauder is very strong and spicy, like me.  ;)

I'm unlucky that many great perfumes don't mix well with my chemistry for some reason and never smell as good on me as on others.  I go to an Aveda salon and once made my own scented massage oil and fragrance.  I think they do that at other places as well.  Maybe your husband could design one that is just what he wants for you.

I've noticed many lovely smelling women wearing Lovely by SJP and Clinique Happy, which I bought and then it didn't smell the same one me.  Same for Pleasures by Estee Lauder.  I can't get a break!

This is hilarious to me.  My best friend and I had boyfriends in high school who were CRAZY for LBS!  They'd always ask for it and buy it for us on special occasions!  It just screams HIGH SCHOOL to me, but brings back very fond memories when I smell it.  It's funny the way a scent will stick in a man's head.  My signature fragrance, Cinnabar, has been mentioned by several men (hehe) as the scent that will always mean Jackie in their heads.  LOL!

YUP!!  HIGHSCHOOL for sure!!   Funny thing is that I forgot about for 25 years and when my daughter was in highschool she got it as a gift from a friend.  She refused to wear such a cheap, baby scent so she gave it to me.  I started wearing it and buying it ever since.  Surprise

I wear J'Adore (clear bottle with brass top) since DH gave it to me for Xmas.  I love it, we picked it out together.

I also love Davidoff's Cool Water for Women and wore that all the time til it ran out.

Big SmileThanks for the advice.. I really like the suggestion and I just might do that!

I “think” my mom or aunt or someone might be getting me a macys gift card for a shower gift to use for a new perfume.. so I am holding off on buying anything for a couple more weeks, but I totally appreciate the suggestions on here so keep them coming if you have more!

Gina, I got a sample of Jadore and loved it at the store, liked it pretty well at home too.. but the future dh doesn’t care for it. It wasn’t my favorite ON ME, but I do really like the scent.  That was a nice selection your dh picked for a present
