Sleep [|-)] Mindless Chatter - Monday

I'm starting my new job for good today. I'm glad because going btwn both jobs was very weird.

I didn't sleep well last night for some reason. Must be the time change. When I finally fell asleep Lily went nuts barking over something outside. It could have been nothing but you never know. She stopped when I called her so it was all good.

I've been letting her sleep with her crate door open. She sleeps in her crate still which is good but she still jumps on me at 3am ready to start the day! Last night it was because she actually had to pee - so I was happy about that (despite being woke up). She has been using the basement as a bathroom because she thinks it's ok since Dakota does it. That has been seriously frustrating - so to have her wake me up to go out was good.

    But I'm tired!

    Better get going!

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Monday

    Happy Monday all!

This time change just messes me up. I did try to sleep to my "normal" wake up time yesterday to try to make the transition. I didn't have any specific time oriented plans so.. We didn't eat dinner until 8PM I think we got caught up in the daylight hanging on and it didn't feel as late.

Belle had fun agility match Friday PM. There was a photographer, he got some pics nothing awesome, but I will still buy a couple. I love pics. Teddi did dog class on Sat. She has gone one other time shortly after the vet said she could, however time, vacation life prohibited going until this week. The trainer noticed a difference in her muscles right off the bat. That is good. SInce I see her everyday I don't notice it. She was really good in class I was pleased with her.

This week I am going to try like heck to keep a positive outlook at work. It has been so hard lately. My boss is out today I hate that I am happy about that. I really like her she has just been a bear to work for lately. I hope to spend some time each day this week looking at the open positions here. I have to MAKE time for that.

Moan.  Groan.  Yeah, it's a bright sunny day, but, morning just came too danged fast.

and, it's barely 60 in my house.  The idiots downstairs must have blown a fuse or screwed something up and the heat is not working.  If I wake them up the fiance will be even more unpleasant than normal, so here I sit being cold and waiting for some sign of life from downstairs.  Never mind that they keep US awake at night......the dogs fussed yesterday morning and they were banging on the ceiling over that!

Here's hoping one of their dogs needs to potty REAL soon!  I'm started to see frost in the air when I breathe!

Monday, Monday dah daa dah da da da

Not liking the time change at all - just got back from our walk and chores (poop patrol)  Bugsy is definitely feeling better and his tail is about half mast.  He had a long crazy zoomie - cracks me up that he does these daily, usually several times.

Too much to do today and not enough time now.  We had been going out before 7 for our walks so had plenty of time.

and worst of all I think my PC is dying.  I never have software/virus/etc issues and I've had the first ever blue screens of death in the last 3 days.  Hopefully I can buy a hard drive and copy this one and that is that.  Just hope its not the motherboard on delayed fry from our lightning hit last summer.

    OK must press on!

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Monday

First, should I go get lunch, or should I eat the turkey sandwich I brought with? I would like to go out, but I feel like I should just eat what I brought.

Second, I wish time would go faster. I am going with my friend (and co-director of the race I'm organizing) to pick up our first donation tonight at 7. I'm excited about that.

I'm also excited because we're going to the star wars exhibit at the Franklin Institute tomorrow. I wonder if I can check out the souvenirs online and decide what I want to buy.

I'm back from Colorado. We skied the entire summit I believe (breck, keystone, copper, a-basin) + vail. The skiing was great. We had fresh snow every day except 1, and that day was wall to wall blue sky.

The skiing was great, but some of the non-skiing was a bit annoying. Lots of tension in the air. One of our friends can be a real jerk. Some serious thought will need to be put it regarding next year.

Anyway.. hard to beat 33 bucks a night (a person) for a 2500 sq ft condo with private hot tub. One day we got $10 lift tickets to breckenridge via a radio promotion. Normal ticket is $86. Thank you KBPI - Denver!

    But now I'm back. Sigh.

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Monday

Another day at this place... will be here until I cannot take it anymore. lol!!  It's only 9:20 and I am looking forward to lunch just to get away.  I feel like all this is busy work with IMMEDIATE turn-around... which is dumb.  Oh well!

No time change here - AZ doesn't use daylight savings time.  The weather has been perfect, and will continue to be so throughout the week - 76-83 degrees.  We started TRYING to plan out the yard plantings this weekend.  I have decided that I'm really good at being the critical eye to something - ie, rearranging what is already there to make it look right.  But starting from scratch - I just cannot visualize the right stuff.  Every time I try to let myself "go wild" with ideas - I keep coming up with water features.... doesn't work so well in a desert environment.

I missed training class last Monday and never got the handout, so we're more than a week behind schedule.  (I was sick and didn't train Jada much.)  OOppsie... let's see if we can catch up tonight!

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Monday

I decided to go out because I ate the sandwich and I was still hungry. Then on my way back in, I was given a whole list of files to find. After I found most of those, more were added to the list. I cannot find two of them, so I decided to give up for a while on that task. I'm also pissed off that I was told to check in before I leave today, as if I'm 5 years old or something.

I'm also sorta mad because my shoulder hurts. I'm not sure if it's because I slept funny last night, though I don't remember doing that, or maybe from sleeping or sitting funny on the train Saturday night.

I am SO frustrated, and I HATE real estate closings!!!!!!!!  The law clerk does them, but she is in Florida so I have to do it.  So friday I set out, certified all the funds for closings, and sent our my package by over night courier to get to the other law office this morning at 9am.  Except Purolator can't find my damn package!  It apparently got put on the wrong truck, and did you know those drivers don't carry phones??

I have such a bad headache right now.

That stinks about your missing package. My brother and some of his friends once started a myspace club about banning FedEx, because it lost a bunch of their stuff one summer.

BF's dad is getting promoted tomorrow (yippee!!) but no one tells me that there is a ceremony of sorts that we have to go to, so all I have is jeans with me, no dressy stuff. Not even any nice shoes! I think I might have to go shop *cackle*

We're going to a cookout tonight, and Pirate is coming. I hope too many people don't give in to his big brown hungry eyes. He's still a little too pudgy for my taste.

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Monday

Well, the first official day at the new job is almost over. I'm pretty burned out. It was a busy day trying to get up to speed on things. I'm in unchartered territory here and really don't know a whole lot about my new job. My background is as a design and environmental engineer and now I'm doing work zone safety and mobility stuff. Lots to learn!

Plus I got a new computer with this new job so there's all that to get set up. Mouse settings, settings in all of the applications, desktop and so on. That stuff alone takes up time.

Anyway, Lily's obedience class is done but I want to get her in another one right away. I'm not sure that I'll go back to the same place. I like variety.

What should I have for dinner tonight? I'm so not in the mood to cook anything.

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Monday

Ugh!  It's been a long day starting with DH getting up for his flight at 4:30 and me getting up with M&M at 6 for walkies.

I have a long day tomorrow with the final play-offs in my curling league starting at 6 PM.  It's a pot-luck and I don't know what to make but I'll have to do it tonight.  M&M will be at day-care while I'm at work tomorrow and then they get crated during the play-offs so I'll be running around a lot!

I just want to go home and hibernate with my Cuddlers!

    Re: Mindless Chatter - Monday

Around noon the folks downstairs finally started moving around and he fixed the furnace.  Had to call his dad to find out how, and that involved a whole lot of cussing....loud cussing.  But, at least I'm not freezing anymore.

We found a nice campground....the one I wanted in town isn't open, despite their website saying that they are open year round....but this one has all the amenities, is lots cheaper AND has cable, free wi fi and I can have my phone moved there since it's pre-wired.  Cool.  And, while we were out, we found two storage facilities that look high enough to stay dry when all this snow finally melts.  Will call those tomorrow for pricing.

DH got a few nibbles today.....that makes me feel a bit better, and knowing where the heck I'm going for the short term, does as well.

Wow, wow, and more wow. We picked up our first donation for the race tonight from a local Karate chain. The total value of the stuff they gave us is over $500. We've got a good number of prizes to give out just from this one place.
