    What's she doing here?!

Usually just lurking around. My name is Tabitha, I'm seventeen and live in SE Pennsylvania. I have 4 guinea pigs, Bacon, Dagwell (hence the screen name),Atticus, and Apollo. They're kind of like dogs, except smaller, and dumber, and don't come when called- they're sweet and loyal though.

I've had two dogs in my life, a beagle-houndy-mix, I don't really remember much about him as I was really young. My dad gave him to a friend. Later in life I had a sharpei-blacklab-something elses mix. His name was Simba, I loved him, but we only watched him for a couple of months before we gave him back to my dad. Currently I don't have a dog and probably won't have one for a few years yet, but there's no such thing as too much research. Especially when that research include's seing picture's of all your cute pups. My favorite dogs are Australian Shepherds but every new breed I read about I end up liking almost as much.

Anyway, that's enough rambling from me. I just wanted to introduce myself and thank you for everything I've learned and everything that I will learn.

Tabitha, I have a friend who always had piggies and was never able to have a dog.  As a result she began to clicker train her piggies!!  Yep -- she applied clicker training principles to train her piggies and wound up with piggies who would 'come when called' and one piggie she even trained to do agility!  yep, she made piggie sized agility weave poles and various equipment and they had a blast!!!

Hi Tabitha - welcome !!!!   Its great that you're hear to research and learn.  I had two (ahem) female guinea pigs many many years ago.  Turns out one was actually a male ..... so then there were six !!   I loved my little guinea pigs and even tho I turned out to be allergic to them I just "sucked it up" so that I could interact with them as much as possible.  The little ones were a hoot - all those little "beep beep beeps" all the time, it always made me laugh.

    Enjoy the forum !

People ask me if I think dogs go to heaven. I respond: Of course they do ! Heaven could only BE heaven if dogs are there

Welcome to the site!  I have a sweet piggie as well, Indy, (screen name) the fifth piggie I have owned in my life.  He and my cairn terrier get along really well.  He purrs and rubs up aginst my cairn.  I think he likes the feel of the fur since he has no piggie mates.

Callie, that's just way too cool. I never thought to try to clicker train a guinea pig. Maybe I'll try it.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
