Have you contacted a Rottweiler rescue?  Please don't give this dog away to just anyone, especially if he is intact.  Thanks for getting him off the streets.  Hopefully you can find help through a rescue in your area.

This makes me cry...I am so sad that a beautiful young Rottie has lost his life,  RIP little boy.....There is a beautiful rottie at the bridge named Shadow that is waiting to show you the ropes and play ball with you!  Your life in the meadows will be very rewarding and we will see you and Shadow when we cross the bridge!

Animal control facilities are open admission shelters, which generally means that they are NOT no kill.  If they presented themselves as anything else, that is inexcusable.  But, you should know that even though rescue is a best bet for a purebred dog, they are often unable to take them because of a lack of available foster homes.  I'm very sorry that this dog was not saved.  Everyone, please - spay and neuter your pets!  There are too many dogs and not enough homes, and the Internet puppy mills calling themselves "breeders" are pumping out more and more dogs every day.  All you need to do is Google "puppies" and it's enough to make you sick.  The way to find a reputable breeder is to seek out the AKC or UKC breed club for your chosen breed and get a referral.  Then, do your homework - reputable breeders give lifetime guarantees, ask you to sign a spay/neuter contract for a pet puppy, and do not breed "designer dogs".  They also test for all the genetic disorders that are common in the breed, and they show or work the parent dogs, so that you can be more certain of getting a physically and mentally sound pup.  If you are going to buy or breed, please also rescue.
