Anyone that breeds Yorkies/ or knows the answer to this question

I am looking for someone that breeds yorkies.

I had a litter of puppies and I am new at this. My 6 lb female had a litter of 9. The daddy is 5 lbs. The puppies are all of different sizes.

    At 3 1/2 weeks now they are rangeing from, 5 7/8 oz 8 oz 8 3/4 oz to 9oz 10 oz 11 oz 13 oz and 2 at 14 ozs.

The question  how can I tell how big they will be full grown?  They were born on 5/28/2009 People are asking and I really cant give an hones answer.

Does anyone know the answer to this???

There is no way to know what their size will be as adults. The size at birth depends on the size of the mother but size at maturity is controlled by genetics. Their size even at 8 or 9 weeks doesn't predict their size as adults. Knowing your lines and what is typical of what those lines produce can give you a clue as to how they may mature. How big were the parent's parents, aunts, uncles, siblings and grandparents? That would be the best indicator of the size these puppies may mature to.

That's going to be your best bet. 9 is an awfully big litter for a yorkie - usually they have 2-3 pups. Are you sure no one else tagged mom while she was in heat?

The web yields this chart. LINK

I would not use it as a final answer...you cannot predict size. I have Beagles and 13" regularly produce 15"s and vice versa...regardless of size at birth etc.

I would really try emailing a REPUTABLE breeder of your breed and ask them for help. I have never heard of a litter that size, either...in that breed.

Those pups are really small for 3 1/2 weeks. Especially the 5oz one. Have they been to the vet? Are they opening their eyes? My 6Ilbs girl had puppies, 3 of them that where around 3oz at birth, but they doubled their weight before the first week, and I believe where all in the 15oz range by 2 or 3 weeks. I can't remember now though. a 5oz 3 week old puppy is just waayy to small, even from a small mom. They shouldn't be varying so much in size either, i think they need to go to the vet. Weigh them every day and they should be gaining at LEAST 1/4 of an ounce every day. In my experience a puppy that doesn't steadily gain between 1/4-1oz daily is usually a puppy that doesn't make it.

Oh no way, I only have the one male and my dogs do not go outside alone even in our fenced back yard, so that is not at all possible. I have another female that had 8 pus 1 month after she had he 9, so I am figuring he is very potient. My guess anyway. Thanks for your help

Yes they were at the vets every 3 weeks of there life, the smaller one ended up being about 15 oz at 2 1/2 months. But all are doing great and grown fine, there weights are different the vet said cause mom was so small and she had 9 puppies in that small belly. Vet says small one will only be 3 lbs if that at adult.

    Thanks for your help

Let me tell you she looked like she had a basketbll for a belly, vet kept a very sharp eye on her after we seen how many puppies she had, pups all doing well and growning in there new homes.

    Thanks for your input
