    Wellness coming to PetCo

Which is pretty exciting for me because no store (yes, I checked all the little ones as well as fed stores in a 20 miles radius) carried it around here. At my local PetCo, they do not have the Core series in yet but they are stocking the whole line little by little and should have it within the next few weeks.

That's it. Just a heads up for the Wellness users. Smile

    Re: Wellness coming to PetCo

I was in the city yesterday (Chicago) and had a few minutes to kill before a meeting, so I stopped in the Petco across the street. I was shocked to see Wellness and Solid Gold! I was also absolutely thrilled because I needed to buy dog food on the way home, so it let me kill two birds with one stone. I haven't seen Wellness or Solid Gold in the Petcos locally (NW IN)...

Same in my town - the main Wellness selection (no CORE), plus Solid Gold.

Ours, too, has Wellness. They do have Core for cats, but not the dog variety. In fact, I asked about it and was told by the manager that Core is only a feline variety.  I didn't want to argue, but I thought it amusing that the little booklet they have about Wellness by the display clearly displays their canine Core variety on two pages

The price Petco charges for SG and Wellness is OUTRAGEOUS. $2.97 a can  for dogfood ??  $1.29 for canned catfood ? Pet Supermarket and Pet Supplies plus are cheaper ( less than $2/can for dog and $1.10 for cat ) and I find most small independent pet boutiques even CHEAPER !!!

Hm..just the opposite here. the dog food in both solid gold and wellness is 1.99 at petco for the can. the bags for both are actually cheaper than pet supplies plus here too by 2 dollars for the small bags and 5-7 dollars for the big bags, depending on flavor.

I just think it's a big step up for a large pet supplier company to finally offer some decent food offerings. I never knew Petco carried Solid Gold, Timberwolf, NB and now Wellness until a couple of months ago. I stopped shopping at Petsmart because they never carried anything decent (not like it matters now cuz I feed raw) but I think it's a good start to hopefully make people more aware of the good quality food vs. the bad. Now if only Petco can clear their shelves of Pedigree, IAMS, Purina, Ol' Roy, Science Diet, Alpo, and all the other assorted junk, our guys would be good to go!

Our new one carries a lot of decent foods, but not the really super good ones.  Ours carries Wellness but not Core for instance.  Their prices beat the feed store guy who used to have the market cornered on the super premiums in this town.  He still is the only one who carries NV, Core, and a few others.  Tractor Supply is the only one that carries TOTW.
