6 year old chihuahua... still pooping in my house

My Chihuahua is about 6 years old. She is an amazing, lovable dog. She comes, sits, lays down and plays dead... She is a very good listener and she loves pretty much everyone. There is just one problem... She poops in the house! She always has and I have tried everything to get her to stop. She can be outside ALL day, then come in and poop in the house. I just don't understand. Any advice?

Also... the reason I am even more concerned is because I have a baby now and I cant have her pooping in the house where he can easily eat it. She is in California right now because my husband is in the Army. When we moved to Alaska we brought her on the plane with us and it seemed to "change" her for a while. I didn't want to traumatize her again so I decided to leave her with my in-laws. She loves them so I figured it would be fine. We are bringing her back when we drive home for Christmas and my husband doesn't want to bring her back if she is still pooping in the house. We both love her so much but he doesn't want to risk our son eating her poop if we don't find it in time. Please give me some advice so I can bring my Bella back with me. Thanks.

The bad part is that you will have to actually train her at your own house, she can be housetrained someplace else but that does not mean that she will know that the same rules applies for every single house in town.

So is back to housetraining 101, like if she was a puppy, be prepared to clean right away because accidents will happen. The main issue will be not to looser her out of sight and with a baby that will be double trouble.

If the dog and/or the child are being left along long enough for the dog to poop and the child to eat it, that's the crux of the issue.  The dog will need to take some steps back in potty training, which means supervision, restricted access, and frequent potty breaks outside.  My youngest dog was more difficult to housetrain but all the accidents were essentially my fault (I didn't take him out soon enough, or I missed his warning sign that he had to go, or I gave him too much freedom too soon).

As mentioned, you have to either train her to poo outside the house or housetrain her to poo in a specific place. While training her, there will still be times that she goes back to the old habit so be prepared to clean it immediately. I remember I used a dog poop bag when I was housetraining my puppies. They are very easy to use and flushable. They are also biodegradable; thus, eco-friendly.
