I was afraid to say so before...because it might jinx things but, Ellie is on the mend. I am looking at her wound and it's smaller everyday...mainly due to her FINALLY deciding to dry up! YAY!

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts...we are going in again Sat. for the vet to see and will likely schedule her sew up, at that time. WHEW! I am so glad that all this endless bandaging, hydrotherapy, spraying and antibiotics are finally bearing fruit!

Will this be her last litter then? I would think she'd be at high risk for complications with any future litters? I'm glad to hear she's feeling better!!!!

Oh, Gina, I'm just catching this, I'm so sorry! When I was in high school I had to do similar wound care for my mother after a post-surgical infection... it was just awful. Changing the wound dressings was just such a terrible experience.

I'm glad Ellie's doing a little bit better. I hope she and the pups are coping well!

Ellie is getting put back together on Tuesday...can't wait! Here's to hoping THIS, far more minor procedure goes more smoothly...LOL.

Ellie is off to her date with the doc this morning...to close her wound and hopefully...get us all back on the healthy & whole track! Wish her luck for a less tricky recovery this time...we all need the break LOL.

Ellie is home, chipper and VERY happy to be back...lol. She's all sewn up..bigger incision than I hoped but he said he needed clean margins and to remove scar tissue so...

Onto antibiotics and pain meds we go and hopefully in a few days she can see the pups if she wants to.
