When Caity crests the top of that Bridge over the River of Life she will see Rufus and the others at the bottom. But there will be a little black pom/peke mix standing next to him, and trust me ... she's not shy. Rufus and the others will be delighted to see Caity, but the instant she sees that question in Caity's eyes about "But is MOM all right? She's been SO upset!" Prissy will step forward and explain the things to Caity that the two of them will understand because their hearts are so similar. She'll tell Caity how loathe she was to leave me and how she worried and and and ....
But she'll also let Caity know that it is rather wonderful to see how we grow as their love continues to bloom in us. How we grow to compensate and then we go on to help other animals. She'll see you take Leela to class and she's going to be delighted -- because, yes, Leela will be the other she's worried about.
But she won't HAVE to worry there ... because she'll be reassured of our care and she'll have her own peace too. It's a place of no worries and peaceful waiting. I have a surety in my heart that it's not just "friends" and "loved ones" who meet those who cross Rainbow Bridge -- but I am sure and certain that there are ones who are called who share understanding ... who are just the perfect ones to "meet" the newcomer and put them at ease. And then there's that perfect spot of sunlight in that refreshing green grass under the shade of a massive tree .... and they'll have wonderful time to share ...
Please ask Caity for me to tell Pris I love her dearly. I have no doubts but what Pris will be waiting ... it would certainly be a Prissy-sort-of-thing to do ...
