My 6 year old male (newly neutered) rhodesian ridgeback is missing and I am desperate for help in finding him. We only had him less than two days before he accidentally ran out of the house while I was putting my son on the bus. I chased him (yes, now I know chasing was a mistake) into a resdiential area. He was spotted at a nearby dog park (Howe Ave. and Cottage Ave.) 95825 but no sightings since Friday. The park has lots of trees and a stream, and it is close to 100, so my prayer is that he is still near the water and shade there.
We have posted about 50 color fliers in a two mile radius, visited all three shelters in the area, contacted vets, posted on Craigslist, paid for an ad in the Sacramento Bee (which doesn't start running until TUesday). We continue to post more fliers.
Echo is 75 pounds, reddish brown, with a ridge. He has a red nylon collar on with our contact info (and our vet's). He is not microchipped but is tatooed on his thigh w/AKC #.
I would appreciate any help or advice that people could give us to get Echo home.
