    Gracie Goat[Pic Heavy] (aDork)

I went on Saturday to go look at goats. The person who owns the goats is getting rid of some of them, and said he'd let me pick one for him to hold until I can get a fence built (which will likely happen when I move down here in 3 weeks). Well, the goat I picked, Gracie, couldn't be brought home right now anyway, they are waiting on her to kid! They're hoping for some more does, but if it's a buckling, I can take him too. Here are the goats (and big ol' mean Boss).

Sinister baby goat, born March 9.

Oreo, the only doe who didn't get pregnant this year, sinister baby, and a caramel doe they are getting rid of.

    And this is Gracie.

Gracie again. She's about 1 year old, and she's the friendliest of the goats.

This is what their last buck kept producing... all white babies.

This is Boss. He does a very good job of protecting his goats.

And this is Junior. Anyone want a Pyr puppy?

Ack! Goats and I do not get along. I had one bite me at a petting zoo and one buck me off the roof of their shed...mostly males though.

What do you do with the goats? Besides goats milk, what are they good for? I've always wondered....

These goats are just pets. I won't be milking them or anything, just playing with them. Though once Papa gets goats they will be brush-eating goats.

kle -- Oreo is the one adult they are keeping! I guess they like her a lot too.

Grats! She's very cute. I've not had good experiences with goats (lots of nipping, head-butting, etc.) but they are very cute and fun to watch. And I do love goat milk/cheese/etc., heh! I got to milk a goat once, too... that goat was actually quite nice and calm. Maybe there's still hope for me and goat-kind.

OMG shes adorable! She has pretty faint markings!

lilys_mum07- Goats are good for alot of things. Milk products(milk, cheese, soap), meat, Cashmere, wagon/sled pulling, you can show them, they can be trained like a dog can, they can be therapy animals, and they eat plants in you pasture other animals avoid. :D

we might have to get Daisy a goat for a buddy. Goats are awesome. If I got one I'd probably teach it to pull a cart. LOL.
