    Crock pot recipe sharing

I'm just discovering my crock pot really, but I have 2 favorite recipes already.[p] Pot roast: big hunk of well trimmed meat, browned, with about a 1/4 bottle of red wine. Cook some chopped onions with about 1 tbsp butter and 3 tbsp flour -cook around 3 mins and add to pot (this will thicken the sauce). Add some carrots, mushrooms, and/or celery. Add about 5 cloves of crushed or minced garlic, 2 tsp salt, 2 tsp rosemary and/or thyme, 1/2 tsp ground cloves, and black pepper. Cook about 4-5 hours on high, can go 8-10 on low. Yum!![/p][p]Lamb stew: lamb shoulder or other tough meat, carrots (I like the peeled baby ones), lots of onions cooked with flour, half a can of beer, and 2 tsp each salt, pepper and thyme. Garnish with parsley. So tasty! The lamb can be fatty, so skimming fat off the top usually helps. [/p]

    My mom's amazing beef stew:

    2 lbs stew beef
    1 large onion, coarsely chopped
    1 large potato, coarsely chopped
    2 stalks celery, coarsely chopped
    2 carrots, coarsely chopped
    1 can tomato sauce
    1 can diced tomatos
1 tbsp minced garlic (more or less to taste...I like lots)
A sprinkle of basil (to taste)
    Salt & pepper to taste
A few glugs of Worcestershire sauce

Dump everything in the crock pot and mix well.  Cook on Low 6-8 hours

    Carolina Pulled Pork

    Pork shoulder roast

    1 medium onion, chopped

    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

    1 tsp. Tabasco sauce

    1 cup Kraft barbecue sauce

    1 tbsp. sugar

    dash paprika

1/8 tsp each salt, pepper, garlic powder

    ½ cup cider vinegar

Make a marinade from the cider vinegar, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, barbecue sauce and Tabasco and marinate the roast in refrigerator for at 6 to 10 hours. Turn occasionally to keep roast coated with marinade.

Put the roast on a rack in the slow cooker, and pour the marinade in, too.  Rub the roast with the salt, pepper, paprika, sugar and garlic mixture.

Cook on low for 7- 8 hours.  Serve with beans and Cole slaw.

    Easy Mushroom Chicken

    6-8 skinless, boneless chicken breasts

    ½ cup chicken broth

1 can cream of mushroom soup

    8 ounces sour cream

8 ounce container baby Bella mushrooms, sliced

Spice mix: salt, pepper, garlic powder & paprika

Lay the breasts in the crock pot.  Rub spice mix on chicken

In a bowl, mix the other ingredients, then pour over the chicken.

    Cook 7 hours on low.
