    Mindless chatter Wed!

I am sooooooo bored right now! I'm doing a psych study in a high school and recruiting kids. Today, the kids I need to find aren't here this period and there's about 2 hours until I can try with kids next period. Thank goodness for my iPhone! I just wish the kids had let me know ahead of time so I could have slept more this morning. :-p What's up with yall? Entertain me....? :) PS- how do you make paragraphs in Safari?

    Re: Mindless chatter Wed!

I've been doing housework today, it needed it and it creates various noises that Lumos needs to be desensitised to, like the washing machine and hoover.  We did some training as well, then he relaxed in his crate while I hung up some laundry and mopped the floors.

I need some new books, I bought two a few weeks ago but have finished them, though they're 2 in a series of 4 so I suppose buying the others would be a good plan.  There are also some dog training/behaviour books I want, one with a specific cover since they released several editions and one has a Maremma on the front.

It's sunny but breezy today, I thought it wouldn't be a nice day when a storm kept me up for part of the night, but it's nice now.  Spring has sprung!

I'm feeling especially mindless today, I keep interrupting what I'm doing to cuddle my floofy Lumos and give Ben belly rubs - dogs can be such a distraction LOL.  Lumos slept through the night last night, so hopefully I'll get my brain back enough to do more work now.

    Re: Mindless chatter Wed!

Woohoo it's my Friday today! I took Thursday off as well for the Easter weekend, so today's my last day until Tuesday!

I need to do some house cleaning tomorrow and pack for the weekend.

The snow now seems to be at an end. There is still quite a bit on the ground but the sun is shining today and the weekend is supposed to be sunny and 9 degrees.

Fiance finally spoke to his boss yesterday. He has been extremely frustrated at work lately. His "boss" has no idea what he actually does and has serious trust issues with the employees. He also runs around putting everyone down. He lowers morale to a ridiculous level. He is a very frustrating person to work for. He's a control freak. So yesterday, fiance went in and had a talk with him. hahahhaa. I was scared for him! It went well apparantly. Hopefully things will improve from here.

You have to make paragraph tags - with a p in the middle, and then with a /p in the middle.

I'm on vacation still, but it's FREEZING! Well, it's 70* or so. The seas are too big to go out, so I think we're going to feed the tarpon and go check out the World Wide Sportsman store.

Heh, I think my brother has had enough pet sitting - he texted me last night and asked when we were coming home.

We have sunshine today.  What a lovely sight to see.  No more snow in the forecast for at least a week, and the temps will be high 40's and into the 50's.  Now that, I can deal with.

So, this is Wednesday.  We're supposed (according to my master plan) be getting some great news this week.  Today would work just fine.  I'm so not good at waiting!

This weather is unreal.  On Sunday it was 70° and we went to visit the BFs mom w/ the top down.  Today I go to let the dogs out and there is snow on the ground, WTF!!!

I'm still playing catch up from the vacation day we took on Monday.  It was fun.  I kinda felt like a little kid b/c the BF and I were playing catch in the backyard.  We agreed to play softball for my church and figured we should practice.  We also went for a bike ride.  Then we watched movies and tried a recipe for apple turnovers, all in all a good day :o)  And definitely worth the catch up that I'm doing now.

    Re: Mindless chatter Wed!

We had a cold front and quite a good dousing of rain come thru yesterday. It's still cold and cloudy today, so I hope we get more rain.

I have a physical at 3 today, so I'll leave about 2. I'm looking forward to the leaving early part but not so much the physical. Hopefully all will be well with the test results.

Tomorrow I sit on an interview panel with 7 other people. We're interviewing 5 people that currently work for us but this would be a promotion into a mgt position and I'd be working very close with them. 2 of the 5 have been a huge pain to work with so far and they're likely to do really well on the interview. I'll have to be tactful about sharing my concerns and in the end, it might not even matter.

    Re: Mindless chatter Wed!

Arrived at work to discover that one of our company trucks has been stolen.  It was a spare truck but we never even got to use it so that somehow makes it worse, don't know why.  We have full insurance but I am not looking forward to dealing with that whole issue.  It's probably chopped and sold for parts or on it's way to Mexico.

I also wrote my eye specialist a  letter explaining why I am finding a new doctor.  Turns out one reason I and others have waited up to four hours is they are triple booking!!  Overheard the office manager tell the appointment girl yesterday when I called in to reschedule.  In my letter I told him I hoped at some point he can slow down and enjoy the fruits of his labor.  I'm sure he will be impressed, not.

I feel sort of anxious today, probably the two above things aren't helping.  Well, time for lunch.  Think I'll grab Twister and go for a walk.

I collected 55 gallons of water in one of the rain barrels, need to fix the connection system, my BF's idea of putting it at the bottom didn't work.

so gotta do a little mod to that.

taxes are almost over!! I cannot wait!! my boss is so annoying this time of year. ok he's annoying most of the year. but during tax season, he tried to get in there & 'help', but he has no idea what he's doing in quickbooks & i'm more worried about him changing something & making a mistake.

got my butt up & worked out this morning! i'm on a roll. pulled up the sparkpeople page for motivation & ideas for exercises, since I still dont have a routine - i kinda do whatever sounds fun LOL

got on the treadmill, then did lots of lower body work, since my abs & upper body are sore from yesterday.  :)

Good for you. You're going to be in a lot better shape than the rest of us come summer.

Jackie - that's just crazy about waiting 4 hrs to see your eye dr. I couldn't do it. I have zero patience for stuff like that. I think it was really thoughtful of you to write the letter. He needs to hear from people like you. Most people just never go back but they never say why.

Well, I was going to go visit my friend in Florida in late May but found out this week that DH is in a class the last week of April, which means he'll be home to watch the dogs. I called my friend and she said "come on", so I booked my flight today. I spent over an hour going from SWA's website to every other major carrier and finally ended up booking thru Expedia. $275 RT didn't seem to bad. I'm really excited to have a vacation planned and to see my bestest friend in the world again Big Smile

thats sooooo exciting!!!!! I bet you're gonna have a great time. I think thats a good deal, when i flew to kansas & back they wanted like $272, so going all the way to florida! good deal!!

ya 55 gallons of free water is better than paying for  55 gallons!! LOL

I specifically bought a gravity fed dripper system for the garden this year, with the anticipation of rain barrels :)  can't wait. getting kinda bummed though, some of my stuff isn't sprouting in the green house! argh.

    check it out!!!

Your system looks and sounds very cool. Do you have to add anything to the water?

no, i dont think so, you just have to keep it closed up so mosquito dont have a field day. also having a barrel that isn't clear will help inhibit algae/bacteria growth. i know some people recommend those mosquito donuts for them.

the stuff in the water is some residue/dust from the horse feed pellets that used to be kept in the barrel, ,my BF didn't rinse them out. LOL.

its plant water too, so it doesn't really matter.

Normally I would not tolerate that sort of wait but this doctor is a retinal specialist and has repaired several tears in both retinas and over the last four years I have come to really trust him.  I have to have a checkup every six months, minimum and the exam is quite detailed.  Last time I wasn't seen until almost 6 pm and my app't. was at 2 pm and then he did a very cursory exam.  I have been unhappy since then but overhearing that crap about triple booking  was the last straw.  I do believe in letting people know why I am no longer a customer.  I appreciate it when someone tells me at work if they are unhappy with our service.  Statistics prove you right, most people never complain, they just never return but they tell at least ten people of their unpleasant experience.

I had a nice walk at lunch with Twister.  He chased the tennis ball and I walked.  Should be the other way around for weight loss but he doesn't throw well. lol  Back to work.

    Re: Mindless chatter Wed!

I've had a good day.  Last week Chyna & Bevo went in for EKGs, both had "questionable" readings, so today they went to the cardiologist for echocardiograms.  I went ahead & brought Brinxx along as well.  All three dogs got "normal" results, so I am thrilled.  I expected Brinxx to be normal, & Chyna is older, so I was expecting some minor abnormalities.  Bev, otoh, is the problem child, & I couldn't shake the feeling that the results were going to be bad.  I was so happy when the cardiologist announced that he had a normal heart, that I thought that I was going to cry.  On the way home, we stopped by McDonalds for a burger.  The guy working the drive thru seemed to think that I was crazy when I ordered 3 cheeseburgers without bread, mustard, ketchup, pickles, or onions.  Oh well, the dogs enjoyed them.
