Many of you may remember some of my posts describing my neighbors Siberian Husky mix they keep tied to a tree 24/7.
Well I woke this morning to my sisters screaming "Bekka, come get this dog. OMG its INSIDE!" Everyone in teh house in complete panic and I am stumbling out of my room putting on pants still half-asleep. I find the poor husky mix standing INSIDE my house in my hall way wagging her tail at me and looking scared. I grabbed her collar and started to lead her outside.(She knows me so I wasnt worried about her biting) Aparently my sisters were outside smoking(they are both adults, btw) and saw the dog and started to go inside but teh dog squeezed in the open door past them and got in.
When I got her outside I was horrified to see a VERY large tumor looking growth on her rear underneath her tail. Her tail was wet with some stuff and she looked awful. I thought she might have been pregnant but she is so underweight her nipples were not distended or swollen at all. She has a thick husky coat but you can easily see her ribs and hib bones. I gave her some food and posted a note on her woners door, they came home shortly and I took the dog back to them.
Get this, the owner said the poor dog, maybe not even a year old yet had a puppy two days ago that died. They never took her to the vet or any thing, just tied her to her dog house and hoped for best. WTF?! The dog was obviously not well, she kept straining (dead puppies still inside, perhaps?) and pawing up leaves as if searching for a den. When waiting for her owners to come home I had put Ham and JAx inside and put her in my back yard then took her back home as soon as I saw the truck in their driveway. I held the dog as her owner re-tied her to her chain and hinted SEVERAL times that the humain society will gladly take the dog and give her medical treament, no questions asked. I also kept telling her that animal control might also come out and pick up the dog. The owner kinda smirked and said "Yeah, well I'll take her to a vet monday." Seriously. These people have a giant pool in their back yard with a hug slide and their poor dog is starving todeath behind their house! I really hope they get medical treatment for that poor dog.
Seriously WTF is wrong with people? I took pics of the puppy when she came over but I dont know if Animal Control would do anything about it. Perhaps I should wait till tomorrow to see if they get treatment for her, if not then I will call the AC. Oh did I mention they have a 4-wheeler? They have enough money for a 4-wheeler but not to get their dog medical treatment. *face palm* *end rant*
