    High Velocity Dryers -- I'm a Believer!!!

I took Indie to the Do-It-Yourself Dog Bathhouse today and I'll never bathe at home again!!!  It was a joy to bath him while standing up straight, it gave me a chance to go over him with the undercoat rake when he was covered in shampoo and again with conditioner.  The amount of undercoat that came out just in the tub was unreal.  I really liked the forced water sprayer too, it got deep down to the skin and worked out alot of coat.  But when I moved to the drying stations and used the high velocity dryer, HOLY COW!!!!!  There was a blizzard of fur and undercoat!  I absolutely LOVE it!!  Now Indie is half the dog he used to be!  Stick out tongue   He's also squeaky clean and shiny and ready for his therapy dog mock evaluation test tomorrow!  After seeing the test demonstrated in a workshop today, I have no doubt he'll pass with flying colors.  We went to the local outdoor mall after his bath for treats and practice and he behaved beautifully, even when surrounded by 3 young girls enthusiastically petting and crowding him.

I lived in Portland for a few years and I LOVED the self dog-wash places! The dryers were awesome and Lex came out so squeaky clean! Here in Oklahoma I haven't been able to find anySad...yet...

    Lex out.

I think I might try the one near us tomorrow.  I've been thinking about it because Willow is really overdue.  But, she's been sick and on pills and I didn't want her to have to go to the salon.  So, since you liked it, you sort of talked me into trying it.

It was really great and the owners are there if you want to try using clippers, they'll help show you how to use all the equipment, etc.  I'll definitely be returning and using it regularly.  Especially the dryer to blow out Indie's undercoat!!!

we use the one here (there's on in Petco) for Aesop..he goes every few weeks.  The dryer is, indeed, the best thing ever.

Coke has so much coat I won't ever bathe him myself unless I can bring him to the self-wash.  It would literally take all day for him to dry so he'd end up even stinkier than he started.  The high velocity dryer is the reason I use the self-wash.  Luckily, Kenya has a shorter coat that's tight without out a lot of undercoat (at least relative to her breed) so I can wash her in the driveway and she dries quickly.
