    Pitch in your dogs coat?

Lily likes to lay beneath the pine trees and unfortunatly there are needles on the ground covered in pitch which results in Lily getting covered in pitch. How do I get it out? It does eventualy go away on its own, but she looks so dirty now and I can't imagine it's too comfortable. It could be pinching her skin the way the hair is clumped together. She won't let me brush her out anymore. I've tried vegetable oil and longer baths where I try rub the pitch out but nothing seems to work. Is there anything else I can use? People have told me to use baby oil, but that could be harmful to her if she were to lick it off.

    Any ideas?

I've never had the problem but I'm wondering if Mineral Oil might work or a fish oil?

Mineral oil is good, as is mayo, margerine, or peanut butter.

Peanut butter - the natural stuff is oilier and works better.  Also great for removing gum.

I don't know really but I am wondering if ice would work to freeze it and you can pick it off.  That's what I use for gum but I will try peanut butter in the future.
