Reply Contact That gorgeous puppy is all Dane!!!!  The funny thing about your post is I meet many people at the dog park who do have pit bull mixed dogs and when asked they say "oh it's lab/boxer". And they totally believe it.   I know that many rescues here would rather tell people a boxer mix than a pit mix or they won't get homes.  It is wrong in my opinion because certain breeds have certain expectations.  Such as temperment, trainability, size etc.  So if they do know they should say so.

Reply Contact so cuuttteee!!! i can see how that pup could look like a pit to someone who isnt dog savvy at all... you gotta remember, a lotta people dont know squat about dogs in general. not to mention breeds... heck i dont even know anything about breeds. if you came and told me your puppy was a pit i'd think it was a bit weird, but i'd still take your word for it... ;) Janet

And don't take too much from people...I was walking a pug and was asked if it was a baby pit.  I felt bad just bursting out laughing but I couldn't help myself.

Remember though, danes, pit bulls and many other breeds that are classed as bully breeds, come from similar stock way back when.  When pups are young, they are harder to id than when they're say, 6 months old or older.  Ever had a batch of puppies with unknown parentage that were less than 10 weeks old?  They're hard to tell what they are unless the fur is really diagnostic. I will forever know what a chow pup looks like though.  One big ball of fluff!!!  :D  Leslie and the kids..
