Drinks [D] Mindless Chatter - TGIF!!!

Ahhh, it's good to be back online - somewhat. My home computer is still dead though. I'm thinking the power supply went bad. It was rebooting rebooting then just died. I don't think it was over heating but that could be too. Either way, I may take this opportunity to cancel cable for a while since I don't really watch TV in the summer anyway, and just rebuild my comp as I get cash. Right now all my cash is going to my sisters baby shower, getting a dead tree chopped down and fixing my hot tub. So, it'll be fall before I get my computer fixed I'm thinking.

Has anyone tried logging on to this site with a blackberry? I can read the website but when I try to log in it gives me a javascript error. Even though my blackberry is java enabled.....

    Anyhow, how's everyone been?!

Oh, p.s. I broke my ankle! only a minor fracture, kind of like a sprain but still hurts like a mother!

Ouch Julie!  Sorry about the ankle.

I can't login to this site with my blackberry either.  I could login on the old site, but this new one...not so much.

I really need coffee, but at the moment, I am too lazy to get up & go get a cup.  I have meetings starting in 45 minutes, so my morning is going to be a boring one.

Ouch. I broke my ankle a few years ago too. It's awful. Sorry about your broken ankle and computer!

It is so hot in my office. It's really just the humidity, but its terrible. The company isn't doing well so they are trying to save money on things like ac and lights. I was using the copier the other day and the office manager came in and shut off the light! I am jobless at the end of this month as is dh (We were both layed off). We are trying really hard to get something lined up before then. We only have enough savings to bring us through a couple of months. Tough times ahead.

Jeeze Jewlieee you go away for a few days and so much happens!

Anyone know how to fix my garbage disposal? I ran the dishwasher this morning and everything I put down it last night came up. Ew. I think I need some Drano. Of course, BF went surfing :/ so I'm guessing I'm going to have to wait until he gets home for manly assistance.

Apparently I forgot to give my mom money for the cell phone bill (we have a family plan) and it's due on the 10th. Whoops. I told her she'd have to wait until next Friday for it.

I've fixed a garbage disposal before but that doesn't sound like your problem. Must be a clog in your line somewhere.

Ouch Julie!  Onyx sends her sympathy too, she hurt her foot yesterday on our walk and had a hard time walking.  She didn't put any weight on it for quite some time, but I couldn't find anything wrong with it.  She didn't seem bothered by any of my poking, prodding, stretching or twisting, so I just rested her, and she seems almost completely improved today.  She must have just twisted it.  Ah well.

Maybe I'll go down to my mom and dad's today and reskin my bedroom door.  Its been down there since I moved in, having a big hole in one side.  It hasn't been a big deal except that Tyler and his buddies have decided that our place is the best place to have poker nights and the bathroom is right beside my room.  So I have a constant parade of guys going past me all night if I choose to go to bed before they leave.  It would be nice to shut them out.

LMAO!  I just used hand sanitizer on my hands and both dogs came running over to see what I was doing.  Who knew, it might have been food!  But now they are both rubbing at their noses and snorting.  The DO NOT LIKE hand sanitizer....lol.  Smells pretty to me, like oranges....

Jewillee -- man, I have SO been there!

WHY do dead trees cost so much to cut down!!  The one in my front yard was like $1800 -- not that I want them to whack away at it like George Washington chopped down the cherry tree but hey ... getting a tree to fall the 'right way' in suburbia and not hit power lines, houses, other 'stuff' etc ... but it's a seriously expensive thing!  I went thru the summer of four hurricanes 4 years ago terrified that this bad tree in my yard would bonk the house and it took us two years to scrape up the money to get it down.  sheesh.  But ankle, computer, tree etc. ... gosh  ... life gets expensive *and painful* right when we don't have money, eh??

Sorry about the ankle -- that kind of pain is so wearing ...

I've always heard that a sprain is more painful than a break, but I'm betting they both hurt BAD. It's impossible to imagine it slowing you down though ;)

I took today off and am meeting a good friend for lunch. I haven't seen her in way too many months, so I'm looking forward to it. It's also a gorgeous day, so I'm thrilled to be off.

Salemsmom - I really feel for you facing layoffs. We went thru one with DH and it was a super stressful time. It all worked out for the best in the end, so I hope the same is true for you and your husband.

Julie - ouchee!  Hope it heals well and quickly!  Can Opera Mini run on a Blackberry?  I have a treo and I use Opera mini.

as for your PC if it is the power supply that is really easy to fix and cheap.  You can usually get one for under $40 - check Newegg for a base line price.  Liesje may be able to give you a better idea.

Yippee the newspaper called this morning and want me to do some stuff for them again.  My business needs this sort of free publicity so I had best get researching Big Smile

Bugsy is abnormally tired these days.  I get a little nervous about these things due to the troubles he's had at various points.  Could just be heat or allergies or both but it is strange to walk him and he doesn't want to jog.

    TGIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!

Hahaha, I just took the funnies pic of Pirate with the built-in camera on my laptop. We went to the dog park this morning and had it ALL TO OURSELVES and he wore himself out.

    ha, tired doggy!

I think I'll bring Neiko to work with me this afternoon. I have been bringing him on Friday afternoons when nobody is here. It makes him a much more manageable dog after work. Not sure why but it does.

The estimates for taking my tree down are $400 all the way up to $2,000! Craziness. I'm just having them chop it down and leave the wood. Friends want to burn it. Fine with me, it'll be cheaper that way. I have 2 more trees in my back yard that have to come down too eventually. Before they fall down, hopefully. I don't have all that money right now though. The bright side is that I won't have leaves to pick up in the fall. The down side is that my yard will feel bare :( Stupid ash bores.

I have a tree that has me worried, but because of the placement hanging right over the neighbors garage it would be super expensive. The other problem too is if when the guy takes out the tree if he were to cut it wrong an the neighbors property is hurt my insurance wont cover the damage to the neighbors property. If lightening takes it out, I would be covered so we have just left it. The tree isn't dead or anything, it's just not in a good place.

I didn't know it could be that high.  DH and I have to have two trees removed from the property that our house is on.  The home inspector said that they're dead, and could fall into the house and do serious damage.  At least I can be prepared for the sticker shock now!

That's a good idea.  One of our first orders of business in the house is to set up the fire pit.

TGIF!  And I'm off, which makes it even more exciting.  I'm going out with one a bunch of my co-workers tonight to have drinks and say goodbye to one of our managers.  She got this amazing job as a program director, and we're all happy for her, but it's sad to see her go.  It should be fun though. Drinks

    Feel better, Julie!

    Re: Mindless Chatter - TGIF!!!

JULIE!!!! We missed you! It is not the same when someone else starts the thread. Stick out tongue

Ankles - Yup been there too I SEVERELY sprained mine back in 1975, I have since completely severed 4 ligaments as a result of the original sprain over the years, and my bad back is a result of protecting my bad ankle. Yup I have been there. Breaks heal, sprains can if you let them but they can take a bit longer. I am sorry for your pain, glad it is a minor fracture for you!

Trees - We had 3 (or 4) annoying trees cut down in our yard. DH did not like them and when we were contemplating satellite TV they said we were not candidates as a result of some of our trees. They just happened to be the ones DH did not like so we cut them down. I think we had all of our cut, and the stumps ground out for about $800 - $1000. We need to have some limbs cut on our Elm, I worry I don't want to mess with it because it is healthy, and I don't want to pay the money.

Well I have already communicated with Julie there is an increased chance Teddi is elbow dysplastic. Our vet did not like what he was feeling but their new x-ray machine due in on Wed did not come in so we could not take pics. Either next week or the week after we have to go back he does want to x-ray her. Crying Why my little baby! Hasn't she been through enough? He does say it is pretty manageable but still!

Teddi was AWESOME in agility class last night. I hope she can continue. She loves it. It is a focus class, but because she is ready we were working on SPEED. She likes speed.
