bladder stones question

  bladder stones question Reply Contact i just returned from the vet where i found out that my min pin, vito, has bladder stones.  i saw the xray and they are irregularly shaped and the vet was kinda vague about what exactly that meant for vito's future other than they can't be dissolved with a special diet.  has anyone had experience with these type of stones?  vito is having them removed on thursday and i am worried about him. thanks! -sharyl

  Re: bladder stones question Reply Contact Hi, sorry to hear about your dog. I have a Dalmatian with stones (urate stones) I believe that your min pin stone will be a different kind of stone. After they are removed I believe they can be controlled with diet and meds, my dals are under control with his diet. But like I said you would have to find out what kind of stone he has. Can’t say too much because I only know some about the urate stone. Think they are treated somewhat the same but with different kind meds and diets. Hope this help you a little.
