What Breed Is This Dog?

I went to our dog beach in Chicago today and I saw the cutest dog in the world, but totally forgot to ask it's owner. If you know the breed of this dog could you please respond?

Chihuahua. Most people think Chihuahua is just the monochromatic hairless type but there are others with different hair and colors.

The head and ears look Chihuahua to me, anyway.

I'd say that dog is most definitely a chihuahua. My mum bred them for years and it is the image of one of our old dogs, i'll try to find a pic so you can compare it.

He looks like a long coated Chihuahua. He looks to be a little on the large size for a Chi, but that's not too uncommon (at least around here).

I completely forgot about long coated chihuahuas!!! I see maybe one every couple years around here, they aren't very popular.

actually i dont think it's a long haired chihuahua because the snout is too long maybe it's a mix of a papillon and a long haired chihuahua

With Chihuahuas being such a popular breed, it is subject to unscrupulous breeding. They can vary in size from 3 pounds to 25. (yes, I've seen some at 25) This said, their conformation also changes. I've seen some with long muzzles, some with almost none at all. The dog you saw is a Chihuahua, there is no other breed that looks like that. Papillions have a completely different look to them.
