It's Friday, I'm off work, and....I have a cold!!! Yay!!

Yes...a cold....not H1N1....a cold. The normal yearly stuffy nose, sneezy, thing that millions of people get per year. It seems any symptom these days is like the plague. But I guess that's what happens when a new virus emerges.

Anyway....I'm taking Aspen to meet a family this afternoon. The first one didn't work out. Ah well. Better luck this time. I'm going to get groceries with my mom this morning. Doesn't sound that exciting, but a) I love food, and b) I don't many mom and daughter times anymore so I do value when we do get those times.

I plan to otherwise stay in this evening and relax....rented some new movies (Gi Joe, the train hostage one with John Travolta, and Drag Me to Hell....anyone seen 'em?) so just going to spend the evening with the SO and the pups!!

    TGIF is right!

Had a shelter Xmas party planning meeting after work last night.  We met at a local sandwich shop and so it wouldn't look like we were using the space for free, I ordered a double espresso.  I knew it was going to be wrong because the girl wrote down latte, then asked what flavorings I wanted in it.  I said, "It's just coffee, no milk, no flavoring."  What did she make?  A latte.  I handed it back to her and said, "I wanted a double espresso.  It's just coffee, about this much coffee (showed her with my fingers about how much should be in the cup)".  What did she make the 2nd time?  An espresso in a paper cup that was at least half full - about 4 or 5 shots.  I thanked her and walked away.  Why does a place offer espressos, lattes, etc. and then not train the employees how to make them?

Glad our forum members with family at Fort Hood got news they are okay.  Such a senseless attack...I hope there are some answers.

What a week. I am glad that all those with family at fort hood had good news. I am glad that Godzilla was found. I hope all the sick pups get better lickity split.

I am sooo glad its Friday!!  Tonight DH and I are doing our little wine and cheese night.  Tomorrow is going to be busy, I have an eye doctor appointment, then RIley has to get her hair cut to get ready for her x-mas pictures.  Haircuts are very stressful since she hates to be touched so it is a complete battle.  The first time went great and every since it has been hard.

Don't have anything planned for Sunday, so will probably be watching the Lion's lose to whomever they are playing.

Thank goodness all our our idog extended families at Fort Hood are OK.  What a horrific tragedy!

Unfortunately, fridays doesn't mean anything different around here, except maybe for more stress...

On a good note though, I've started Xmas decorating. That should help hold off the winter blahs just a little bit longer.

For the record, Sloan is incredibly HOT. I'm with Amanda. Carev, not my type - but he sure does have his moments and shirtless last night was one of them :)

I cannot find any information about the car accident/dog I saw last night, there is nothing online in the paper and the local station has not said anything. I will buy an actual paper today I think and see if there is anything in there. If I hear nothing, I'm choosing to think the dog was revived and totally fine.

I have to go home and clean and scrub my house, my parents are coming over tomorrow and my house is looking less than stellar right now. My mother is a neat freak so I must at least have it partially clean. I'm hoping I can convince my dad to put up the Christmas lights for me. The weather is supposed to be nice, so hopefully he feels like climbing a ladder.

I'm out of bed and feeling a little better!

This flu has knocked me down so bad.  I've been home from work since Tuesday, and I had my first shower last night lol i stunk!

I have learned that if anyone else gets sick and has to take tamiflu pills, take them with food!!!!!!  I found out the hard way yesterday morning and was violently sick to my stomach from about 9:30 - 12:30, at least ten times.

I will have to look through and catch up on everyone.  i am quite far behind

Good to hear you are on the mend.

It's super foggy here this morning.  I'm so sleepy this morning.  I could use some more coffee but don't want to go make any.  I need an assistant or at least Bevo to bring me things when I'm too lazy to get them myself.  My cuz invited us to Thanksgiving dinner while we were talking last night.  I may take her up on that this year.  She is a sister to the cousin with a daughter and daughter's husband stationed at Fort Hood. lol confusing to explain family.  We are all so relieved that they are safe.  They both recently got back from Iraq.  I feel so terrible for those who lost loved ones.

    Huh?  LOL

Such a horrible act.  Please don't flame me for my initial (racial) thought when I heard the shooter's name.  I know its wrong....but I just  couldn't help but think "planted terrorist."   I'm sure that is WAY off base and I feel terrible for even thinking that right off the bat.  But I did.  Embarrassed

I have been dealing with sinus headaches and congestion...off to take a Claritin.  Did you know that you have to be registered to buy Claritin these days.  Sheesh.  Apparently, people were buying the stuff in bulk to make illegal drugs or something.  I just want a clear head...really, thats all.

Lauren, I'm glad you are on the down hill slide of the feel bads.

I hope Bugsy and Josie are ok....Buddy is much much better.  He went on the walk with us this morning....no limping.  Smile  I didn't notice until we got about 50 feet away from the house, but Heidi brought her Chuckit Ball with her on the walk.  Silly girl.  She would find something to sniff, drop it and forget about it....we must have turned around to get her silly ball 1/2 a dozen times.  Indifferent

My elliptical is being fixed today!!!!  I managed to get the broken piece off so I don't have to somehow take the entire thing to the shop.  The rest is lying on its side on my floor looking like a giant dead steel praying mantis.  I love working for a college.  Anytime you need a random favor, there is someone to do it.  Need a broken piece of steel welded and reinforced?  Go to the engineering program!  Need to identify a bug you found on your pet?  Send it to the biology office!  Need a breed survey translated?  Contact the German department!

Lauren, so glad you're feeling better.. whoo, man, what a rotten thing to get wiped out like that!!

SOOO glad Godzilla was captured!  Big props to Karen/outdoorschik and the rep at the Humane Society in Minnesota for getting him back into safe hands.

Got invited to a charity silent auction tonight, with my sister... but, really, I'd rather go home at a decent hour and take Gracie out for a run - she deserves it.  I feel like I've barely spent any time with her this week, since I've been working late, and going to bed early in order to catch up on sleep.

Doesn't it suck when you like someone, ask them out, and the next time you run into them is as you're standing next to the mens room when them come out... Um, I don't really want to talk to someone coming out of the restroom, for whatever reason.  But, I did note he was drying his hands after washing them - HOORAY!  Apparently, my standards are pretty low these days... bwahaha!
