I can't believe how many new baby Aidens there are in the paper every week. Yeah, it's a cool name, teachers are going to have to start adding numbers after their names to tell them apart.

Oh, for SHIZZLE!!!!!  It's soooo annoying that people just continue to pile them on.  Like Jennifer in my age bracket.... Dumb. Yup. Kaitlin, Kaitlyn, Caitlin, etc...that was BIG when I was in school (graduated highschool in 2004). I remember there were 5 Caitlin's in my senior english class, and none of them went by "Kate" or "Katie", it was the full name. Same class and there was 2 Stephanie's!   Re: Unique girls' names (janobonano) Reply Contact I never met another Paige until I was in HS in FL - there were two others.  Now when I go shopping, I hear my name being called, only to realize it's for a toddler.  And my last name is also very popular with current naming trends, too.... I laughed when my mom said she was looking for something less popular when she named me and my sister.  Lana, not so popular.  Amy... there was at least one in my class every year of school.  And I work with lots of Amys around my age.  Good job mom.  I tried going by Roxanne for a while but it just wasn't working.  People didn't see me as a Roxanne, I am an Amy, good bad or indifferent. The most popular name in my school days was Jennifer - I have two good friends named that - one goes by Jenn and the other by Jenny, but even then DH gets which one I'm talking about confused lol.   Re: Unique girls' names (janobonano) Reply Contact  DH and I really liked Freya for a girl.  Other names I considered; Isla/Ayla, Fiona, Ellouise....  I also like "Rae" for a girl, especially as a middle name.  My friend's dtr is called Meadow Mae. Carla or Cara are nice I think, and I hardly know anyone with those names....  Bryony, Adrianna, Fern... Erm.... I am not any good at this, mainly because I like traditional names like Rebecca, Jennifer, Abigail, Stephanie, etc... so thinking of unusal ones is hard for me! The following is from our former Secretary for Education regarding a little girl named Isis: Stupid, Inappropriate Commissioner California education chief's "dirty" crack to six-year-old girl JULY 9--In a bizarre public gaffe, California's education commissioner told a child that her name, Isis, meant "stupid dirty girl." Richard Riordan, the former Republican mayor of Los Angeles, made the comment during a publicity event last week at a Santa Barbara library where he read to schoolchildren (below you'll find links to the video). When Isis D'Luciano, 6, asked Riordan if he knew her name meant "Egyptian goddess," the 74-year-old politician replied, "It means stupid dirty girl." While Riordan contends that he was just teasing the child, he apologized to D'Luciano, claiming that his joke was a "misunderstanding." That explanation has apparently been accepted by Riordan's boss, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who called the crack "unacceptable in any context," but has not moved to can Riordan. Other names I like are perhaps old fashinoned:  Rose (or Rosemary), Mary, and Miriam.
