Its too bad Stupidity doesn't hurt.

I just had someone come to my house to pick up Tyler's rent money.  She's a nice lady, and I normally like her, but not today.

She got here, came to my door, and let herself in.  Which let my dogs out.  Who does that?!  Then she chased them down the road, and they kept going cause she was chasing them.  Then she came back, and told me she didn't have time for this "Fu**in Sh*t" cause her mom was in the hospital.  Well, what was she doing running errands for anyone if she was in a hurry to get to the hospital?  And who the heck just lets themselves into someone elses home anyway?  Anyway, after that she took off like a bat out of hell, spinning her tires and throwing slush everywhere on her way DOWN the hill!  Ya pretty cool lady.

I am so annoyed right now.

In any event, the dogs just had a grand time running through the slush, gettin soaked and visiting with the neighborhood tied up dogs, but Kelci was inside taking a nap, so I couldn't go chasing after them.  My neighbor caught Crusher for me, and Onyx just goes where he goes.   So it turned out to be a not so big deal, but I'm still pretty ticked.

There goes any recall work we've done.  Back to square one.

Wow, what an idiot. That could have been a disaster. Time to start using the locks!

Now don't eat me for this Candace,  I am breaking my embargo because I see locked doors as a deterant and a safety measure, not a liability. It means I control who goes in and out of my house and when. And it is because people are stupid that you should be locking your doors, espcially now that it is just you and the kids. Words travel, people say things without thinking, the last thing you need is people knowing your doors are unlocked.

As touchy as Kord is with people I still lock my doors when I am alone.

Yes, I am trying to scare you. Start locking your doors please.

Re: Its too bad Stupidity doesn't hurt.

You're right I suppose.  I had the notion a while ago, because of all of Kale's friends coming to the door.  I didn't want one of them to open the door and get trampled, but instead I just talked to them.  They know now and they're good kids for the most part.

Honestly, this outside door doesn't even have a lock on it.  Its just to the porch and the only thing valuable in there is my mitre saw, and dang, if someone can lug that outta there without the dogs noticing them, they deserve to keep it!  I just never thought of locking doors as anything but a theft deterrant, and perhaps to keep scary people from coming and kidnapping you in your sleep.  This happened in the middle of the day, and was not someone that was here to do either of those things.

This girl is normally a very nice girl.  She's wonderful with my girls.  They love her like crazy.  And the one time I talked to her about my dogs, she was great.  Ok, so she didn't seem knowledgable, but at least she didn't look at me like I had 3 heads when I babbled on and on about their training and nutrition and stuff like most non dog people do.  For now, now that I'm over the skyrocketing blood pressure surge of worrying about my loose dogs, I'm gonna chalk it up to nerves about her mom.

Sigh...if anything good came out of this, its that I am certain that Crusher is not DA.  He saw no less than 3 tied dogs while he was out on his jaunt, sister in tow.  And not a curled lip happened.  He sniffed at the JRT across the road.(the one that we have had issues with)  That was it.  And that thing was bristling like crazy!  I felt so bad for it, it must have been so freaked out, but at least it didn't act stupid.  Onxy jumped around it playbowing like a loser, and both him and Crusher just ignored her.  And his owner was standing in the doorway watching.  There's me standing on the road, leash in hand, not wanting to call them or move too fast toward them either.  So as soon as they moved on, I looked at him and tried my best to look apologetic.  He laughed and shrugged.  So I guess that bridge is mended.  And at least 2 of my nieghbors are now sure that my dogs are not big mean beasts.
