    African Wild Dog Pups

Our Zoo just had new additions, sadly the mother passed shortly after giving birth.  Check out the story here:

    I hope this works...

    This is the story:

One of our African Painted Dogs gave birth last week, but died shortly after delivery. Things looked bleak for the nine pups until we found a Humane Society shelter dog named "Honey," who had just finished weaning her own litter. Last week, she met our Painted Dog puppies, and within an hour let them feed fro...m her. Since then, she's been letting them nurse regularly, even making sure each gets enough milk. Check local TV and newspapers for more...

Are there pictures?  I'd love to see pictures of that.  I have a visual of all these spotty pups nursing from my best friend Lisa's Lab named Honey.

Amy - click on one of the red links on the OP - it'll take you to a youtube video of the spotty pups with their new 'mom'!

very cool - dogs and cats are such accepting mothers, it's pretty amazing!

LOL, what a good momma dog!  She is nervous from all the attention of the cameras but she must also be thinking "Sheesh, MORE??!!"  Looks like they did well based on the last part of the video.

Oh, the links looked broken.  But I saw them.  Doesn't 'momma' look overwhelmed.  And did you see the claws on those babies?  Wow.

Awww, Honey is such a sweetheart.  Those dotty puppys are super cute, too.
