I will see it when it comes out on DVD but I cannot bear to see it in a theater. I mean I'd be sobbing the whole time. Just the clips they show on TV make me well up and his voice and his persona just seem so full of life, and health, and potential. He looked better than he had, in years.
He was indeed on the cusp of something and to have it end like it did really does me in.
I've felt guilt about not supporting his last albums that did poorly. It may be silly but I felt some disloyalty about that and still do. He got me thru some tough times in my life and I let him down. Some can laugh about that if they want but I really don't care.
As to milking I don't feel like anyone is milking anything when they show an Elivs flick on TV, or all those people flocked to see the Dark Knight even more because Leger died, etc. It's just that people want to see him...hear him and pretend even just for a while that he is NOT, gone forever. He would want that to be...I really think that.
Money is a fact of life. People make money off things...I don't dwell on that because I am no different...and really, neither is anyone here. If you had talent that people paid for and you died and your talent could continue to provide for your children and even great grandchildren....well....
