Yeah, but that's still happy news.

I was worried about mine too so I kept it at my mom's house.  Now I am still trying to sell it and it is kept here at work (climate controlled environment).

I could never sell my wedding dress x.x

We can't keep it here (I live at my mum's house)....too many pets etc.  We're going to try and keep it at a friend's house (non smokers, one cat that hides in the basement)

I liked mine at the time but now I have no purpose for it, nowhere to keep it.  It's way too big now.  I actually have two of them, both for sale (first one I bought for $50 and could not get altered correctly b/c of the beading).  I tried to give them to the theater company for costumes but they already have a ton!

what about giving to a thrift store?  for women who can't afford dresses from the shops?  If I remember correctly, Lies, you dress was beautiful :)

And it's true, after the wedding what do you do with your dress?  My friend wore hers once after the wedding to have her photo taken with santa lol, her wedding was the end of november last year and her and her dh got all dressed up as they did for their wedding and got their photo taken and used it to send christmas cards to people lol

Thought I'd share :) First, the original dress so you know what I tried on:

And my dress (please forgive the wrinkles...3 days in a garment bag, heh...):

    Some of the detail work:

What will I do with my wedding dress?  Keep it as an heirloom :p

     Just loverly!!!

I've kept mine for 40 years....because of it's meaning and because my Mom made it.  And I have kept my daughter's for 15 years because I made her's (and she's not even married to that fellow anymore).  I am just now wondering WHY????   So my kids can toss them when I am gone?  Neither were professionally preserved...mine couldn't be altered to fit my daughter.  My granddaughters are babies now...nah, I doubt they will have any interest in them.  I could have made them into baptismal gowns, but never was given enough notice for that.  Sooo, I'm still thinking hard about what to do with them.  Sigh...

I have heard of having the wedding dresses made into veils for daughters/granddaughters
